Sums up how I feel also.
Ellie, Krishnan, Nigel - all three can lift the glitter ball in my world. 😁. Okay any of the three, not all three.
I like Layton too. They are the four I want kept in as long as possible.

This is how I feel! (Or for as long as Krishnan keeps enjoying it - I remember Ellie Taylor being less keen as the weeks wore on, and stopped asking people to vote for her)

I can't be doing with Cliftons in any shape or form.
They give me the rage.
And Ore cried more than a toy shop full of Tiny Tears dolls in full flow.

I was really disappointed he won.

I couldn't agree more and I'm laughing my head off at the Tiny Tears comparison... 😭 😂 Spot on. I was RAGING he won too.

That was the year I started losing my love for Strictly, it was so obvious the producers were pushing for him to win as the BBC golden boy. And then Stacey and Kevin were the same, she was all over every BBC prog and he was “King Kev”. Ugh. Even typing that has made me a little bit sick in my mouth 🤢

What did it for me was they totally ignored the fact that Danny Mac was dark haired and handsome and was an awesome dancer who people were comparing to Gene Kelly in looks and ability.

Not only did they ignore it, they went and gave Tiny Tears a Gene Kelly dance to do and brought over Gene Kelly's widow to watch the bloody thing.
Utter bastards.
I was furious.

Weirdly, I'd never heard of or seen Danny Mac before Strictly and when I saw him I thought he was going to be big headed, cocky and arrogant.
He was none of those things and his dancing was sublime. I quickly became a fan.

He was indeed robbed.

Someone has already linked my favourite Halloween dance (Patrick and Anya doing the QS to ‘Man with the Hex’) so I’m going to link to this absolute classic. It’s just literally insane. I was never a great fan of Brendan, but this might be the best thing he ever did on Strictly.

Also, Halloween week really isn’t the same without Brendan’s annual patented “shout out to the backstage crew” Halloween speech ☹️

It's always been a little bit like this with a BBC talent that you get the feeling the beeb have decided is going to be the next big thing. Husband always asks me who it's going to be each year, but you're quite right. They didn't even try to hide it these two years! Shoved down our throats and then person is bloody everywhere!
 
Just had a little win on my friends horse and decided to have a flutter on the main man himself!

Great odds considering Hamza won outta nowhere last year!

Yes. He was absolutely, 100% the best fit for a Gene Kelly tribute Strictly could have ever wished for but nope, they gave it to the judges’ pet. Ugh.
I had absolutely no knowledge of Danny before either and to be fair nor did I after, but he was robbed of that glitter ball and I will die on that hill! And Oti. She’s the best female pro (tied with Natalie Lowe) ever and she should have won for the dances she came up with for Danny.
I did have tickets for when he was in Pretty Woman in London and I was intending to take a #DannyMacwasrobbed banner but it was the understudy that night. I was actually gutted.

His win was the most blatantly forced they've ever had.

The constant (fake) crying, extremely middling dances praised to high heavens, a signposted "journey".

Not to mention the Gene Kelly thing. Considering Gene was a perfectionist and a very exacting choreographer and director he'd have been the first person to tell them it was pure shite!!!!

only because when Bobby pulled Dianne's head into his arse/balls he knew where he wanted her face to go and technically in a work environment it's iffy to make a woman do that.
She might not of wanted to be pulled into that area of him and he needs to be a bit more aware I can't think of many professional situations where you would risk setting a girl up to land her face into an intimate part of your body without you getting a warning

But even more bonkers is that they actually styled him as Gene Kelly … the Misty Blue AS outfit is pure Kelly.

Had forgotten this one but it's fabulous. Perhaps Layton's back flip will have a similar vibe.

He was so perfectly Gene Kelly in that AS. And he went on to play the same role as Gene Kelly in On the Town in 2017. But sure BBC, Ore was the Gene Kelly of that year 🙄



(This dance was sublime. I’m still mad now that Darcey disliked that brilliant leap so much that she kept the dance from getting the perfect score it deserved. Has there ever been another dance that got a 10 from Craig but not one of the other judges?)

Misty Blue is one of my favourite routines ever, just so graceful. My unpopular opinion is thatI prefer it to his samba. Ore never approached anything like that level (though I'll admit his showdance was good).
Danny even had the Gene Kelly arse physique!

I’m still mad now that Darcey disliked that brilliant leap so much that she kept the dance from getting the perfect score it deserved.

My memory is that Darcey disliked the lift where he hauls her across his body - the one maybe slightly off bit of the routine.

Absolutely this 💯 I could have written this post! I think this was the first time I really twigged that the powers that be manipulate everything to get what they want 😞 Danny Mac being the best natural dancer they have ever had on Strictly is the hill I would die on. Every style, every dance just came naturally to him!

And yes, Misty Blue is my all time favourite dance - how it did not get 40 is a complete mystery. It was dance perfection 😍
