I was referring to the person who posted that comment in the DM about being a cousin or whatever it was.

this is it for me too. IF gio had said something that awful, and then meant amanda could not continue with an experience she was obviously taking seriously, then would her partner be making sassy responses like that?!

i’m no fan of gio but it is worrying that anyone can say anything on t’internet and have it be dissected and discussed, if not believed. the only thing that IS odd is the lack of comments on his own post compared to amanda’s but i guess that speaks more volumes about his current popularity levels with the other pros in particular. or even then, it seems more natural to reach out to the celeb contestant who has withdrawn and not the pro who will continue on the show/job as standard.
 
I found Richie just too much on strictly. The wham dance he did and the foxtrot were good but he waa never going to get far as he wasn't really a big name. Just a travel reporter on radio 2 (one show reporter here and there). Some people rub others up the wrong way and I can understand if gio didn't get on with him. This business with AA though could have been swept under the carpet but the message thanking everyone BUT him just draws more attention to it. I dont believe it's due to him being a hard taskmaster. Surely the celebs know this when they sign up. It's sad though when someone feels they have to go. I had no sympathy for Will Young but felt sorry for Robert Webb.

That’s how I see it. All the people saying it’s telling how there have been more celebs and pros comments on Amanda’s post than there has been on Gio’s. Amanda is the one that’s withdrawn so it makes perfect sense that people’s sympathy would be with the one who’s withdrawn rather than the person who will still be hanging around the Strictly set for the show’s remainder

exactly! the replies to amanda are mainly “will miss you!!!” - what can they say to gio “see you friday for rehearsal?” it’s natural that the reactions to the two posts are very different. imo anyway.

Oh there definitely are, I’ve been told stuff I’d never ever reveal!!! I think that sort of stuff is up to the actual celeb/pro to reveal themselves and not the press etc.
 
I dunno. Karen put up a post for Eddie going and lots of the pros have commented on it even though they'll see her Friday.
Gio's post was as much a 'tribute' to Amanda as anything, so a quick 'aw will miss you both!' would be normal. And certainly a like would be pretty much expected.

But as someone already said, it doesn't seem that Gio is that popular with the others anyway these days so maybe lots of them have him muted!

He’s absolutely fine. Reeling a bit from steph’s packed lunch finishing. He’s decided to move away from tv work and concentrate on his baking school.
