Anton survived the racism scandal in 2009. Arguably was lucky to keep the job then. We're now in 2023 and Anton would 100% be sacked for that now, no question. So IF (and a big IF) Giovanni has been using ableist language, then his career on the BBC is finished.

His former partners uniting on Amanda's post is also NOT a good look. At all. Perhaps not a fireable offence but I bet all 4 of them plus Richie will have plenty to share. I somehow doubt Laura Whitmore & Georgia know Amanda very well so them commenting is definitely to do with Gio.
What was the Anton scandal? I don’t remember this 😳

I think Amanda's husband is very very odd. If you read into how he had his accident he was on BGT hanging upside down in a straight jacket, and basically it went wrong and paralysed himself. They also got engaged within 30 minutes of meeting each other.
Sorry but something isn't right there.
I get odd vibes off him too for some reason.
They were on that Couples programme with The Richardsons and there was something strange about them. I can't put my finger on it.
He seems to have inserted himself into this whole debacle hugely

He wasn’t just hanging for no reason, it was his career - an illusionist of sorts. bleeping nutty but I don’t think it means anything

the speed and intensity of the relationship seems weird but to each their own.

I would imagine that whatever has gone off, the prime focus of the producers at the minute is keeping the Strictly bandwaggon rolling with the minimum amount of disruption and sorting out the rest in the off season. They don’t want this pulling any more focus than necessary.
Well they've certainly failed at that! 😂

I would have thought it much less intrusive to simply say 'oh dear, Gio's been injured, Neil/Gorka is stepping in for him' and 95% of viewers wouldn't even remember the next week to wonder where he was if he never appeared again. He already wasn't appearing in the pro dances.

The audience really can't help but pay attention to a withdrawal, due to the deranged executive decision to let them knock other couples out of the final instead of just having the score/votes roll over to the following week like every single other version.

They’d known each other for years as social media friends before meeting in person in Vienna where he proposed. I imagine they had an emotional affair up to that point, personally.

I think if you’re an escape artist and stuntman you’re probably quite into taking risks so a first date proposal doesn’t surprise me at all, what surprises me is that she said yes. Takes two to tango.

Amanda had to want to stay for that to happen, though and she obviously just wanted out of the whole thing for whatever reason.

Absolutely.

And nobody can tell with an injury how long it might take to heal so nobody would have been any the wiser, had he been replaced.

So this is what her husband shared and then took down just before her announcement. Sorta makes it feel like she did it for his mental health, not her own.
