Ach. Probably for the best but at least he was entertaining
I think Shirley was pissed off at the booing from the crowd so was harsher than she might have been. But it will help people - the audience will rally behind him, he gets a Journey etc
Karen messed up - she knows that the judges will come down on incorrect technique and it spoiled what could have been a great dance for Eddie.
Moving on.... each year SCD is on am I the only person who
* is interested in the celebs health as in their weight loss, body toning etc...
* wants to buy a pair of those brown dance shoes...
* awaits a decent DECENT samba roll..
Never been overkeen on her delivery and does hold her nose up and look down on the poor celebs, and some of the pros for that matter. Obviously Gio fawns over her like an overgrown teenager so she loves all that, he knows how to curry favour.
I am just watching the golf, would so love Shirley to do a pro celeb golf comp and somebody saying to her that it is week 2 surely she can drive the ball 300 yards and berate her for giving it an air shot and be useless at the technique. Yes Shirley everything is easy when you have mastered the skill.
On the other hand, over praising Angela Rippon when her dancing is pedestrian at best and telling Les last week that he 'did great', She is totally way off with her critique. Anton is more of a balanced judge and am liking him each week, bringing the joy to the programme, where Shirley tends to suck the life out of it with her acerbic comments.
thoughts on last night ( am sure these will have been mentioned )
Anton - overscored all night . Fails to offer constructive feedback when the celeb makes mistakes. What is the point of being a judge if you’re not offering critique? He is a pointless.
scoring in general - I think I sat with Craig with the scores although I felt a few of his scores were too low ( with the exception of Les Dennis ).
Eddie -shat on by Karen ( who is imo one of the worst pros and to me isn’t likeable). Why she has taught him incorrect steps is beyond me. I guess she doesn’t like Eddie if she is doing this. Eddie I think given all what happened took his feedback in good grace.
Claude ( panda eyes) and Tess - another pair of awful outfits. Who keeps putting Tess is these awful suits??
Amanda / Nigel - good dancers but the pair of them have no where to go given their scores last week and last night. I also agree with Craig’s comments in that I got sucked into the story telling of the dance and missed all the technical flaws . Amanda - struggling to take to her. She isn’t coming across that well imo.
Ellie / Zara and Nikita - all dance novices and this is apparent ( although I think Ellie has natural rhythm ) whereas Nikita and Zara are stiff . Personally I think Zara gave it her best although the performance was hit and miss but I think she has potential to improve if she continues to keep trying. Nikita - I think didn’t put much effort in and yes … where was the swivel?????? Gorks has checked out I think.
as for Ellie - I think she has natural rhythm and will do well.
just seen the result...really thought he'd get the public vote for at least a couple of weeks! He'sdefinitelythe worst though, so correct decision was made!
I get that Shirley wants to push the better performers but that didn't come across well last night, with Nigel. I like when the judges are specific but poor Nigel! It smacked a bit of wanting to take him down a peg or two.
Adam apologising reminded me of Will, last year. No, just no!
And speaking of technical feedback, Motsi was very much in the Leonard Hayes (Jeff Goldblum) advice to Joey, mode, last night.
"you're in your head, you're thinking too much." "Don't learn the words, let the words learn you." "...don't be afraid to explore the vertical." Etc.
Just catching up with last night's show. They really, really, really need to get some new singers for the performances. They stick out like a sore thumb now.
I don’t know about anyone else but I miss the days when Celebs received 4’s/5’s and then improved over time. Where do you go if your getting 7 or 8 in your first dance?
ETA - I just realised I have forgotten about the 2 Angela’s , Jody, Layton and Adam.
Angela R - she is going to be on the end of positive comments and scores just “because” of her history with come dancing and her age.
Angela S - thought the jive was crap.
Adam - I like his enthusiasm for SCD. I think he is also trying his best. I also hope he does well as I’d like to see Luba more as I don’t feel like we really know her that well.
Layton - I think he has potential if he calms down a bit and learns the techniques.
Jody - lacks confidence in his ability. I think he will be best doing ballroom dances rather than Latin. Seems like a really nice bloke though.
Bobby - Totally forgettable dance aside from one lift being cool. It's plain he's putting next to no effort in and I'll fume if he gets to the final (unless he improves both his dancing and attitude super bleeping quickly.)
Annabel - Nothing special but a decent effort.
Jody - A few moments were quite good, shame about the rest of it! Jowita should not have included the cape bit when he couldn't do it better than that.
Ellie - Not sure about a few moments in the choreography there, sorry Vito, but very well danced and acted. Loving these two and looking forward to more.
Nigel - Good Lord, surprised Shirley's tone didn't turn him to stone! I'm sure she was right about whatever was wrong with it but sheesh, calm down! Or is it all a ploy to make sure he wins by getting the audience outraged early? I've always suspected the reason she was so nasty to Emma Barton was to make sure Anton got to the finale on a wave of furious votes. Anyway I bleeping hate that song due to how overused it is on cute baby and animal videos on Instagram but I still loved the dance, my second favourite of the night after Layton's. Great choreography and storytelling, and Katya's dress (and Katya) was gorgeous!
Nikita - The routine was so basic, poor girl simply can't dance, but she definitely performed much better than last week. Gorka did well to get so much improvement out of her, but there's no way she'll be around for much longer.
Les - Not sure Nancy has quite the same knack for joke routines as Katya, unfortunately. He gave it a good go!
Adam - For an actor, his tango face was pretty bad. Like Annabel - decent but not memorable.
Amanda - Didn't really like it, but pretty impressive for a 50 something year old. Her strengths are obviously in ballroom though. I'm not usually massively opposed to the spreadeagle lifts but that one was quite bad, the feathers made it look dodgier than usual! Agree with others who've said it felt joyless.
Zara - In the minority of loving the dress! Her frame was a bit wobbly by the end but a big improvement on last week. I think if she can conquer her nerves she could go a bit further than it seemed from last week.
Krishnan - Also in the minority of not totally hating Lauren's dress. I'm not sure I would've even noticed it was denim if it hadn't been shown on ITT. The crop top thing that looked more like a bra was a weird choice, but at least the dress was sparkly! Anyway Krishnan's dancing wasn't the greatest, obviously, but at least he looked like he was having a good time! I fear he doesn't have enough free time to improve a lot though.
Eddie - Enjoyed the dance, sadly have to agree with the judges that it bore little resemblance to a cha cha. Will be interested to see what/if Karen has to say in its defense on ITT. Feel bad for Eddie, he handled the comments well.
Angela S - Sorry Carlos, second horrible jive choreography from you, or maybe I just don't like jives, lol. You could see the Irish Dance training in places, I think I expected a bit more from her though, but maybe not as much was transferrable as I was expecting. Felt it was all just a bit messy, but they were stuck with a horrible theme.
Angela R - I was worried she'd struggle with the shorter rehearsal time, but she did really well, and Kai's choreography was perfect for her.
Layton - I wish their outfits hadn't been quite so boring, but other than that, amazing! Have already rewatched several times. Nikita's choreography was fantastic, and you can see he's having a ball being able to go all out. So excited to see more from them. Editors did Layton dirty with that VT though. I assume he was joking but oof that drama queen whinging about the word basic is not gonna win him a lot of votes!
Feel bad for Les going out on that awful joke Samba. It was the right decision but I'm sad he didn't get to have a nice dignified Waltz before going.

No not the only one
*yes, and i also used to love seeing badly hair styled celebs being transformed (although Sara Dragon Den did the opposite for me)
*No
*I love a samba roll, it's such a ridiculous move!
Bobby - Totally forgettable dance aside from one lift being cool. It's plain he's putting next to no effort in and I'll fume if he gets to the final (unless he improves both his dancing and attitude super bleeping quickly.)

Adam is this years’s Will Mellor looking for sympathy with his ‘I let you down’
Love Ellie and Vito together - she had surprised me in talent and personality
Leyton was fantastic but he should be with so much more experience than everyone else. Yes you can boo me but I’ve paid to see him dance, making him professional and he is phenomenal, so hardly starting from basic or even decent level. Loving seeing Nikita being his best though.
Just got to love Eddie and Krishnan - top smilers and just good guys.
I can’t see Nikita, Jody, Lez last long
my 3 votes went to Ellie, Angela S, Nigel
Some of the costumes were horrific. Lauren’s bring every bit as bad, if not worse than when Vicki revealed it on ITT. Shirley rocked up in Angela R’s dress from last week and Tess and Claude having a competition on who can dress down the most.
I’d give Adam a bit of leeway as I think he is in quite a lot of pain from his arthritis. He’s giving it a go and nice to see more of Luba, but why do these celebs sign up when they have a lot going on, he missed a day of training this week cos of filming Waterloo Road. They surely know by now that Strictly isn’t the sort of thing you can wing.
As for Shirley, she really can’t help showing her nasty side and next she will be moaning about the stick she is getting on SM.
Strictly Come Dancing duo Giovanni Pernice and Amanda Abbington impressed fans of the show with their electrifying routine despite claims the pair had fallen out behind the scenes

or Graz, Zara and Giada possibly in the first-ever Strictly throuple?
Graziano Di Prima enjoyed a triple date with his Strictly partner Zara McDermott and his wife Giada Lina after training in London - they were seen laughing before leaving the venue
My thoughts:
I don’t watch Coronation Street, so I’d never heard of Ellie before. She is coming across as a lovely person and a promising dancer. Also, I’m loving her partnership with Vito.
I was really looking forward to watching Eddie last night, but sadly he was let down by Karen.
Nigel wasn’t quite as good as last week but he is still my favourite. And Shirley, there are ways to give constructive criticism but that wasn’t it.
Poor Lauren, what an awful dress, I barely watched the dance because I kept noticing various atrocities on her outfit. A pocket on the front, two on the back, dungaree clips, sparkling denim, bra on show. It was awful.
Nikita and Layton. Wow. Seriously hot and talented. What a difference it makes when the song matches the dance, and the dance is done so brilliantly.
I bloody love Strictly ❤
