The reason John and Johannes worked so well last year was because John was a fabulous dancer and they had routines which suited them. In any other year, they would have won.

This year, Richie is a bit marmite, but I don't dislike the guy. I just want him to tone it down a bit.

Jayde and Karen, I think have the potential to be good. The issue is, as she isn't very well known, will she last long enough to show us???

And I've read Jayde's story of her sister - I really want her and Karen to do a disco dancing couple choice!!!

It’s awful they get a fleeting mention and even though the singing isn’t great, to not even tell us their names anymore is a bit tit.

The one thing that baffles me about Strictly but still wouldn’t stop me watching is their insistence that Tess is Ms Strictly and cannot be replaced and that they can’t see/hear the issue with sticking with disappointing singers. Neither of those will stop me watching, nor will same sex partnerships or contestants with disabilities/impairments (which they’ve been doing since Johnny Peacock was a contestant in 2017).

The one thing that’ll break me? Over scoring by judges. But it’s not going to stop me this year and probably won’t ever. I LOVE it!
 
Saw a few things on Twitter saying that they should have brought in Wayne Sleep or a junior dance champion to dance with Ellie.

Thank goodness they didn't go with either idea - both would have been wrong on so many levels. I feel for Ellie because I feel like people are demeaning her. She's won 5 gold medals for the country for goodness sake.

Vick Hope should have been amazing.
I was all prepared to like her, she’s from my neck of the woods, she did languages at Cambridge so clearly intelligent and I thought she would do well, but I think her and Graz just didn’t get on. I cant believe she’s engaged to Calvin Harris!

Hmm, I was wondering what they were going to do with the height difference problem... hope they've made the right decision. It worries me a bit, surely that would have to be a bit off-putting to Gio and give him less control over the dance? I know the female pros are really the ones leading, but they're used to doing it like that. I have grave fears it'll be a disaster, but fingers crossed I'll be pleasantly surprised.

I don’t think it matters terribly much to the pro … Gio would normally be teaching the follow steps anyway so he’ll be a lot to backseat drive without too much trouble.

Agree. I think they make a great pair and Nikita seems genuinely happy to be paired with her. They were lovely together on ITT.
 
If Celebs go to the loo ends up on Channel 5 I better get credited 😆
Seriously though if it helps children or adults to see someone like them eg gay/bi, with a disability, someone of colour, then surely that’s not bad? It’s not like anyone is being forced to watch Strictly with their eyes forced open à la A Clockwork Orange
 
I wonder if Karen will come back next year if she & Jayde go early. I thought that the same-sex partnership was her farewell gift but wouldn't really be leaving on a high with a pre Halloween exit.

I feel like they have a chance at being in the dance off though not sure if actually eliminated 1st. She doesn't seem to be enjoying the Tango much, reckon she prefers the party latin. Hopefully she can get the Couple's Choice in.
