I just found Chloe very dull, nothing about her made me think she'd have been interesting with a celebrity. Probably didn't get a fair shot but we did see her doing a Quickstep with Gethin in a Christmas special and the whole routine was a bit of a damp squib. And he was pretty good at ballroom with Camilla back in the day IIRC.

I certainly hope not, but I can't help but wonder...
It always makes me feel bad for Luba (and Jason) when I think of that awful Star Wars Paso they got stuck with. Utterly baffled and bewildered by what tone-deaf twit orchestrated that mess, especially seeing as how the Imperial March wouldn't have been a bad fit for a Paso? But some genius decided to use the Main Title Theme instead? What?

I don’t think Rose will get the acting work she wants.She will be back knocking on the door of the BBC to get back into EE within a year but the bridges will have been burnt.

What do you mean ‘bridges will have been burnt’? From what I can tell she hasn’t been slagging off the people at Eastenders, she’s been very complementary about the people that work there and her time on the show. The only time I hear the words burnt your bridges was if someone leaves all cockily making out they can do better and slagging off previous employers

Trying to find a Thread on Gemma Akinson. Surprised there isn't one. I'm new here so maybe I've missed it. I can't believe her daughter waking during night was such an inconvenience to her and her training. Selfish woman. Maybe the child had a nightmare. Made her go back to her own bed sceaming and shouting. How about trying to sooth your child Gemma. Be a mum. Posting content about the child's punishment. Not a maternal bone in her body. I think you’re probably right about her being inexperienced. She may have benefited from a year or two either on another version (maybe Ireland) or maybe within a dance company. But I’m still unsure if she would’ve been a cast member without the AJ connection or even been considered. The weight thing might be thing. She looked very small on Instagram last time I checked her feed so I hope she’s okay (but I imagine she was probably just carry the remnants of a bit of natural teenage puppy fat)
As for Gemma… she seems a fairly decent parent but I dislike her having Mia and the dogs in the gym with her seems like an accident waiting to happen. It wouldn’t but I do worry small fingers and such. However publicly declaring your child had a Chucky moment to her nearly 2milllion isn’t as funny as she might think. There wasn’t really a need for it to be honest.

Rose’s speech felt really important to say- she wasn’t just having a rant, she was highlighting that EE completely misrepresented what it’s like to be deaf at times, and the pressure that put on her as one of the only deaf actresses working currently. It sounds like she has other projects in the pipeline including writing so I think she’ll be ok. She doesn’t seem to be obsessed with being rich or famous so can do theatre and other things too.
re: Gemma- she comes across as a lovely mum. My husband worked away for weeks at a time, it’s relentless and your sleep being messed up makes it loads harder. Mia hanging out in the gym for 40 mins isn’t going to emotionally damage her FGS

She made some really good points about writing deaf characters that I wouldn't have thought about. It's like when a show has characters of colour or LGBT characters; it's important to have writers in the room of the same ethnicity or sexuality because they'll consider details that someone who doesn't share those characteristics won't necessarily think about. I didn't take it as her attacking the show but pointing out important points about how far there still is to go and she's one of the only figures in the British deaf community with a big enough platform to be listened to. All the other deaf actors I can think of are American - Marlee Matlin, Lauren Ridloff, Millicent Simmonds, Troy Kostur. I thought it was interested that she said that projects have been cancelled this year after she turned them down. That must be a lot of pressure to deal with.
I went to see the Strictly pro tour in London and Gemma was sat a few rows back from me with Mia. She was really lovely and clearly adored her daughter who was delightful, even when a massive auditorium filled with strangers were all turning to stare at her!

It also wasn’t an interview, it was a lecture to broadcasting professionals that has a history for being challenging, and reading on the Limping Chicken blog, she said she was very thankful for the role, said it was part of a wider structural issue rather than EE specifically and praised Strictly (another BBC show) heavily for how inclusive they were.

The only thing I find slightly off is the gym obsession. Gemma has stated multiple times that she wants Mia to be aware of the gym and the equipment etc from a young age which seemed a little odd to me, but then again she probably just wants her to grow up having a healthy relationship with exercise which is a good thing. Apart from that I think she comes across as a great mum … she’s honest, down to earth and a lot more relatable than other mums on social media imo. Mia seems like a happy little girl and is a character so they must be doing something right

I don’t really understand what it is Rose wants. All the soaps and tv programmes promote inclusivity these day, to have every single disability or equality issue represented in the script room/filming/ casting procedures is not possible.
Not saying she has to be thankful for a job although she should be like the rest of us, if she wants treated equally and normally. People love to moan for the sake of moaning.
