Shirley gets more infuriating by the year. Her schtick now pretty much goes:

Young male celeb: makes inappropriate comments, fans self, gives 9
Older male celeb: praise for trying, gives 8 just for making it onto dancefloor
Young female celeb: 'well, you missed this one step so I'm going to have to mark you down'
Older female celeb: makes sycophantic speech about how she's 'representing the older woman', gives 8 even though it's obviously a 4 or 5 at most

BIB - Exactly!
Also refers to anyone around her own age as though they are about 110, and fair play to them for even walking onto the dance floor unaided.

According to the Gio fans, the male pairing is being reserved for him (which I wouldn't be surprised about). For Kym I think we can only rule out Cameron (too wee) and Vito (probably being reserved for a sizzling-hot showmance with a young influencer).
 
I fully believe God made Gorka short to keep him humble. Can you imagine if he was 6ft?

Have to say, I've always appreciated Gorka in a non-fancying way, but when I saw the pro tour I made eye contact with him and it made me a bit giddy 🙈 (having never been on the front row before, I didn't realise the pros look directly at you, it was quite disconcerting to begin with :LOL:)

This reminded me, I was clearing out my screenshots and I found the Strictly bingo card I made last year from our comments. Shirley features a lot 😁

I love it! 😁 That bingo card is so spot on!

I sometimes record it and watch only the performances and fast forward through the comments from the judges. What I used to notice with Motsi - she would gush about how wonderful someone was, then give them a mark nothing like what they probably expected after her comments.
And when called upon to advise someone in the dance off, she never says anything meaningful to them.
Reminds me of Leonard Hayes (Jeff Goldblum) giving advice to Joey about acting. 🤣

Leonard Hayes: You're in your head. You're thinking way too much.
Joey: I really doubt that.
Leonard Hayes: No, no. It's that you're not connected with anything in your body. There's no urgency. The scene is a struggle. It's a race. Also, what you did was horizontal. Don't be afraid to explore the vertical. And don't learn the words. Let the words learn you.
 
Not sure on who today's celebs will be paired with. Will looks to be an upper middler but probably not a finalist. Maybe Dianne but what's his personality like?

Kym could be a contender. In past years would have been a Giovanni partner but he has to get the worst female celeb after his win. The ratings won't plummet if he goes out Week 3.

I reckon it'll be Gio because he was vocal about wanting it before. Although maybe Kai will get it because he featured with Johannes in that dance last year and he has the height for leading another male.
I've got my fingers crossed Gio gets a female so we get the usual game plan, and then we won't have to listen to the Rose shippers anymore.

I like Gorka too. He's really talented and I like that he just does his job. He turns up, works really hard, is very supportive of his partners but doesn't take part in any of the nonsense and show-boatting.
He seems to stay in touch with his partners after and I've often seen him bigging them up when they go onto other projects.

I agree about Dianne's hair - didn't go with the dress or the theme. I often think her hair cheapens a ballroom dance too.

Someone on DS has said how popular Dianne is ... really? I am not saying she is UNpopular but rather just "the one with the hair".

She has a massive younger following from the shippers when she got with Joe. Their whole band has them reeled in. Always thought it was more about that than any of her dancing.

Yes! He's got a real subtle sassiness!

I'm wondering if Aimee Fuller could be a contestant this year. She seems to be really in with lots of the Strictly crew.
