I don't think post final press is a requirement. Once the show is over they're no longer under contract which will include any media duties related to promoting the show. It will just be down to the couple and any pr spins they want to put out there or earnings they want to make from additional media. Whereas now they'll be doing press that they may be contracted to do to promote the tour.

I know people say about the viewing figures but I don’t think the viewing figures for 2020 and 2021 can be compared to 2022 - people were mostly in lockdown and there wasn’t much else to do. 2022 is the first time in 2 years that people can socialise, I think in general people have been socialising more and watching less ‘live’ tv.

It was actually the least watched final in over 5 years.

I always normally see the winning couple give interviews normally the Monday and week after the win; just as I was thinking it I saw people mentioning it on DS and on social media as well so I knew it wasn't just me thinking it.
 
I don't think you can really compare Hamza to Rose for instance as her win was a very special one and naturally would get more press attention.

Ratings wise, TV views have obviously went down across the board but being truthful, SCD 2022 was a little bit of a dud in most ways compared to SCD 2021 and I don't think that helped.

It was fighting all sorts of outside events … it was always going to struggle coming after a series hailed as a classic …. But The Queen dying meant the launch show was bumper to bumper with the first show, so all the momentum from the reveals had been lost. The fact the first few weeks were one long sob story And then It had just started to get going and then it was shuffled round the schedules for the Woeld Cup. It didn’t really stand a chance.

Even in that crappy GB News interview, they asked about Rose: 'what's next for your partnership?'. Poor Richie really is chopped liver.

The Fail still desperately trying to make this love triangle happen. I thought Hamza and J seemed close still and it was nice to see them together again. Still gotta get a topless pic of Giovanni into the story, though!

Good on Nikita for doing the segment about the Ukraine. A here comes the boys with Nikita, Vito and Carlos, that might have been a successful tour.

Thought Gio in that GB news interview when Rose was first mentioned he looked a bit exasperated about being asked - understandable, both just want to move on. He just wants sell tour tickets now - although he’s doing better than I thought - looks like most are almost sold out. Poor Kai and Nadiya - unless there is a last minute surge, can’t see theirs being that successful and saying they will show unseen footage on their romance really isnt a selling point.

Have to admire Gio and his PR, he is a paid advertiser for so many products that he pops up everywhere and gets the plug in. Soon he won't need to tour just do endless plugs! I am no Gio superfan or anything like that but he seems to have captured the art of gathering a huge amount of followers and his tour shows are a sell out. Am intrigued as to how he does it so successfully.

It has taken Gio 8 years in the UK to get that amount of support and so must have that certain something to attract audiences. In comparison Kai and Nadia seem to be running before they can walk, when nobody, apart from the groupies, are interested in their few month 'love story', :sick: as for putting it in their show with footage, :eek: please 'spare' us all that schmaltz.

Gio is fascinating is the sense that he isn’t fascinating - other than ballroom/Latin dance, Freddy Mercury, designer labels and pretty Insta models and being highly driven, he doesn’t have any other interests that he shares. He is very good at homing into his key audience and able to sell the version of him that he knows they will want to buy. Anton is the same - just gets his key audience.

Was just coming on to say this- plus there was no tour so no real ‘continuation’ of the partnership professionally. I did find it a little strange H&J did no short and sweet tv interview after winning just as I presumed it was part of the show commitments for the winners, but obviously not. They seem to be doing a few to promote the tour now (although not as many as Mr Actimel in his double-breasted jackets).

I think his fans project loads of stuff onto Gio: eg the shippers have invented him as this fairy-tale prince who needs to be redeemed by a good woman and is actually dark and complex. When the reality is I think he's not very interesting: great dancer, good-looking, fairly pleasant, not very deep, terrible taste in jackets.
