The reality is the intensity of the friendships pros and celebs form isn't really sustainable outside the Strictly bubble. I can definitely believe that some couples, such as Dan and Nadiya, Ellie and Nikita etc will keep in touch and meet up occasionally, but some people just drift apart after the show ends and that's fine

The thing that’s funny with the Rio shippers is that they do seem to be friends (for now with how their lives are) but they wanted more (‘the fairytale’ boke). The KJ shippers are furious they aren’t friends, the Rio shippers are furious they are (basically) 😆.

They definitely push that angle on the show and whilst some probably do stay friends in some capacity, it’s work, and some fans need to be realistic about that.
 
Yeah it seems Gio and Rose have a perfectly good friendship (more than half his former partners can say!). But they want the 'girl-next-door redeems secretly sensitive Lothario' fairytale, ignoring the fact that if they did get together it would probably crash and burn and they'd never speak again!
I think some have convinced themselves that Rose rebuffed him so they can live with a different narrative - he is secretly heartbroken and Rose will always be the one who got away.. Meanwhile Kai and AJ seem not even cordial. Though for some that will still be 'proof' that something went on..
Aljaz always seemed to have the best approach - smother them with kindness but zero hint of romance (being famously ecstatically married helps!) and stay cheery pals. Nikita I can imagine on that path too.. But it's still an investment and absolutely not a requirement.

I remember Aljaz’s first series when people were shipping him and Abbey and wanting them to get together … which was apparently fine because Peter didn’t deserve her. A relationship, even one with kids is no bar to a determined shipper.

Yes of course! and the Jay-Aliona shippers show that too.. (despite her being reputedly a Trumper and him being pretty liberal...). So ignore what I said!

i remember that - some of the things people said about peter and his looks while they banged on about how abbey and alijaz looked so gorgeous together (which they did but still) was really awful. real person shipping is wild.

It was also fine because Jannette had been out briefly with Pasha as well as Artem so was automatically flighty in the world where a woman is only allowed one boyfriend per 60 years
 
Bet Aljaz and Janette were disappointed they didn’t get to add the super-rich Ramsays to their roster of rich former partners/friends/swinging pals.

ETA: I have to admire Aliona that rather than tours, teaching or reality tv, her post-strictly plan was to marry someone filthy rich 😆

I see it's something about boosting your immune system (via 20 fags a day and 10 espressos). He’s gotta pay for PR and personal stylist somehow. Talking of, she is happy to take credit for this ‘ensemble’!
