Reading DS, I feel like a raccoon rifling through a bin full of trash then dipping out when I’ve had my fill. I have zero interest in starting an account or interacting with that mess but it is fascinating and since we only really discuss the strictly threads, I guess it’s technically on topic.

Anything posted on a public forum, including fantastical, borderline stalkerish thoughts from the depths of delusional shipper minds, is there for all to see. Maybe people should consider that before exposing their inner crazy online.

People used to also defend Kai on that thread too. I know because I used to defend him too on there.
Most people on that thread have long moved on from wanting AJ and Kai to be together. I haven't posted in the thread recently but if people still want to post in there, that is up to them. No one is forced to read the thread.
TBH, I don't know why people on Tattle read that thread so much if most of you think that the posters are psychos.
This isn't directed at you specfically but Tattle do moan about DS posters a lot. Every site has weirdos.
TBF, the posters are on here are nicer than I expected. I just don't get the obsession with DS.

You're right, of course. For me, it's a guilty pleasure - like reading the Daily Mail from time to time - I know I shouldn't and it's a waste of time, and I won't end up thinking better of humanity as a result but the value is too tempting.
And, there are also some very knowledgeable and nice posters on DS too.

I think that, especially the AT‘s, some on DS forget that completely. They even are confused when it’s brought up in the main Strictly part. An open forum is an open forum. Being on a subsection doesn’t make it any less open, you don’t have to give a secret knock and swear on AJ’s showdance dress to gain entry.

I also think that for those that just post on the AT threads, they kinda think everyone is as interested in the object of their fandom as they are. Most people who watch Strictly really dont remember that much from one series to the next.

I’d blanked the memory of those weird lacy shirts although I can’t wait to see what the official ‘ugly tour shirts’ are this year. Always ill-fitting and made, last minute, from your nan’s old curtains for the male pros to wear.

ETA: also what random crap Kai gets as in-fill for Gorka once again, as physically there ain’t no way he can wear the original costumes.

Not to sound like LadyLav, but I’m pretty surprised the mods haven’t taken down that thread- it’s veered into full blown criticism so many times.

It’s awful. They seem to think that them no longer supporting Kai means he has lost a large section of his fan base (there’s maybe 10 of them left), i’m sure he’s devastated that a bunch of 40 year olds no longer follow him while his career thrives They are patiently waiting for AJ to tell her side of the story and they claim Kai will be “shaking in his boots” due to the shadiness that went on behind the scenes. I need some of whatever these lunatics are smoking ASAP

On another note, I think he and Helen will be fab on the tour. I feel like their personalities are quite suited. Hopefully wardrobe come up with something better than the hospital scrubs monstrosities the male pros had to wear last year.

He seems to specialise in taking over Gorka's gals - he was very good with Maisie last year. The tour is so much more relaxed (apart from the big arena nerves), that I'm sure Helen will have a nice time with him and be well supported.

The one going on about chemistry is the one who used to post on here, she has actually lost the plot. She loves to try and imply that Kai has zero chemistry with Nadiya by bringing up Luba, Lauren etc, despite Kai saying himself that she’s the best person he’s ever danced with. I just have to laugh at her making a point of saying that AJ cleared her schedule and therefore Kai didn’t have to work around her, is this not further confirming that it was a general statement and not about AJ then?

Hopefully this will be the nail in the coffin and they can finally move on, although I wouldn’t hold my breath I’m really looking forward to seeing Helen & Kai together, they both have great personalities so should have great chemistry.

I just looked up one of their London shows - yeah less than half sold for late April but there is still time.. It is a tough sell as we said. Competing against Giovanni's tour and the Strictly pros. Nice as Kai and N are, they are pretty boring and I imagine most people would prefer to save their money for the pro tour, which has Vito, Carlos, Nikita, Karen, Dianne, Gorka, Jowita, Luba, and Nancy. Oh and Neil. While the pro tour isn't sold out lots of the venues are showing low availability and they are arena-type ones, so looks like it's going pretty well sales-wise.

Had a feeling it may be lower tough sell for their tour especially when its at the same time as the pro tour. While I still think its perfectly fine for them to go on tour together I just think its still quite soon especially after a year on strictly where they both had early eliminations, it might have been better for them to wait till next year. It'll have to be and wait and see how it goes.

Yeah neither had a high profile this year at all. I suspect Kai at least will get another contender this year so next year might have been better. They are doing 30+ dates too - might have been better starting with a few shows to test interest?

It's also hard to know who their niche is apart from diehard SCD fans who see all the tours and the relatively small no of fans of them as a couple. Gio and Anton are also touring in July which will presumably attract some older fans + Gio's (minus disgruntled shippers).

Most strictly tours never fully sell out. Until nearer the time some of last years pro tour dates had barely sold any tickets, a lot of people buy them nearer the time. This years seems to be doing better so far.
