I think it was fairly common knowledge that Matthew, Ian & Robin were gay when they were on the show. Even as early as series 2 when the papers were trying to allude to a showmance between Ian & Denise, the general reaction was ‘yeah, not sure they’re “compatible” in that way’.

Don't think Gio is anything other than straight - he's obsessed with women and he'd have at least tried to show more enthusiasm for Richie if he was anywhere on the LGBT spectrum - he was only interested in a same-sex partner if they were a contender IMO.

Well AJ and Curtis did both make those ridiculous, obviously PR written 'I don't identify with any label, whatever happens happens, maybe one day I could end up dating a guy who knows?' non-statements and I've never been able to work out if they're straight and just that stupid and attention-seeking, or if they're both gay or bi and it was preemptive 'well we technically never lied...' damage control if they ever got outed. I lean more towards the latter (even though they definitely are both stupid and attention-seeking) because it's hard to believe any management team would think it was a good strategy for their straight clients to appear gay.

As for Gio - his carefully curated ladykiller image seems a bit too try-hard to me, and he's Catholic and from a conservative area. He just gives me massive fake, closet case vibes, but of course I could be totally off base.

BIB - maybe, but also there are definitely some bi men who have issues with internalized homophobia and treat gay men badly because they have an attitude that they're superior because 'at least I duck women like [society says] you're supposed to' and I wouldn't be a bit surprised if he was that type.

Of course maybe he just is a straight pathetic sleazebag with terrible taste in women, but I'm not sure I buy it. Like, Gleb is also a womanizing creep who goes after plastic-titted models and begged the producers for a male partner but it gives me totally different vibes. It doesn't feel like he's trying too hard to convince anyone with it, and he was clearly totally comfortable and secure dancing with Shangela. Whereas Gio was clearly tense, awkward and uncomfortable with Richie, and don't think it's just because he couldn't dance very well/he found him annoying, it came off to me more like he was self-conscious and had something to hide.

lmao, if he's straight his management team sure made one hell of a whoopsie when they thought the publicity stunts with Maura were a good idea, because it didn't cross my mind for a moment that he might not be straight before that, but now I don't know if I'll ever believe it again! 😂

Since you mention Gleb - I think he's another ex SCD pro who is bisexual or curious - dancing with Shangela was the really the only time he's came alive at DWTS. Plus had been vocally pro same-sex pairings for a while, moreso than any other DWTS pro, even made comments quite a few years ago saying he wanted to dance with a guy and added that he wanted the guy to be 'light & super cute' which is a bit odd for a straight guy to say.

Well it's kind of interesting that both the Pritchards and Gio have the same PR management company! And that line about wanting a same sex partner was pedalled in all the interviews Gio started doing when he joined them....

I did wonder about Gleb for a while, as I did think it was a bit odd that he was so desperate for a male partner (I think a lot of the reason is a craving for headlines though) but he came off so enthusiastic and chill about it all that it did make me think he seemed like he would be just be open about it if he wasn't straight.

The super cute comment made me lol too but I think that could have just been a vain/shallow 'I'm so hot I don't want to dance with anyone ugly' kinda thing.

edit: whoops, totally forgot he was Russian for a minute, that's certainly a good reason to stay closeted!

Still think probably not though, as you'd think there'd probably be some rumours about it attached to the cheating on his wife story, but I've never seen any.
 
You would know Rickie if you listened to Radio 1 every day, he does a show with Melvin and Charlie (she was on ITT saying how she's always looking at Wills arse 🤦) I will watch it because I quite like the Christmas one but Rosie can eff off. She's on GBSB Christmas special as well FFS with JoJo!

He was married to Nicole until 2003, but the suggestion is that this was to ease their competitive career as Nicole was from South Africa so international travel arrangements were easier that way. She kept the Cutler name and they still danced together after the divorce; she’s remarried now (and is Nicole Batty).
