No, Rachel Stevens has come the closest (although she did reprise it umpteen times in the hope). Craig always held out … until a Christmas Special when he cracked and gave it a 10. Anticipation was high … and then Alesha gave a 9 :D

How could we forget AJ's very last dance in the show, her rumba also scored a 39. Craig mislaid his 10 paddle once again. 😁 I don't recall anyone getting a 40 for the rumba either.

She was 3rd from top on dodgy Dave's poll this week so not sure how accurate they all are..
It wasn’t daft Dave’s poll I don’t think. Can’t remember which one it was but last week and the week before predicted the bottom two so I was wondering how accurate they were in general. I might have got overly excited at the thought that Will could go this week 😅

I think it was this one.. It seems right with Fleur third from bottom, above Tyler and Molly, suggesting an inevitable Fleur-Molly DO. T

I've noticed a pattern of Ellie being really high in the Entertainment Odds polls and then low in Dave's, and quite often vice versa for Will - god knows what it actually means though. Probably that they're both hovering around the middle somewhere 😂

(I have quite a nerdy fascination with polls, sorry)

Lets hope he’s dressed in something that allows us to see said ‘flicky legs’, his outfit in the regular tango whilst quite striking, very much smothered his footwork.

On that note- just interested musing, he is always fully covered in his outfits (see deadful Jurassic Park outfit & random motorbike boiler suit). Possible personal/cultural choice?

He is Muslim so I think possibly cultural.

DS is Digital Spy, which has a big Strictly forum. The spoiler often comes from there.. LL is LadyLavender, doyenne of DS, who is (a) Gio's biggest fan (b) his diary-keeper/PA and (c) scourge of other, inferior, Italian pros.

I don't think the antipathy to Fleur for getting the sacred 40 is anything like as bad outside DS, as I've seen loads of positive comments online, but yeah there is risk of a backlash, though maybe offset a bit by some new fans? Re: Molly not sure if she'll get the DO bounce again, and a tango will help, or if people might think it's time for her to go..

All of Molly's ballroom has been very good, so I'm hoping she'll do well enough with the Tango to be safe, whether she's in the DO or not. But I suspect Fleur's rumba's going to have to be amazing to keep her safe. I doubt she has enough of a fanbase to lift her out of the dance off if she doesn't score well.

Social media comments frequently don't translate into votes, but hoping they do this time. But realistically I don't think they will. Just generalizing, but I imagine most of the people who loved Fleur's CC are on the younger side, and most who hated it are older. I think a lot of young people don't vote, possibly because they're out or too busy to watch live, and the voting window isn't very long.

Also some people don't actually care as much about the result as their social media comments suggest. Had to laugh at a tweet I saw from some drag queen imploring their American followers to vote for Shangela, and lamenting they couldn't vote from Canada, when they clearly didn't actually give a tit about the result or they'd have known DWTS US voting was open to Canadians this year.

If you look at the reaction to Fleur's CC across social media, it was mostly liked by viewers. From last week's dances, it is the most watched dance. The Strictly post for the dance on Instagram has been played 822,452 times with over 50,000 likes. The dance had some kind of impact.
I take the results of the polls with a pinch of salt because they don't take into account how many times people are voting for the couples. Also, not all of the viewers vote in the polls.

It's tricky to know who's actually the most popular from youtube views. Ellie's week 2 Paso is the lowest viewed for that week at 42k, and Richie's Quickstep is the highest at 214k, but look who's still in. Richie's Samba has more views than Matt's VW or Ellie's Cha Cha too, but they still got the votes to save them that week and poor Ritchie went out from three leaderboard places higher. In fact Ellie has pretty consistently low youtube views, and yet the audience have gotten her out of trouble several times. I suspect that Fleur's CC is the sort of thing that could have gone viral and been viewed by many people who won't or can't vote.

I thought Fleur's CC was fine, but it wasn't 10 worthy until the Lose My Breath bit, and as it's the kind of dancing she already does in her performing career, I wasn't as impressed with it as I was her Samba, which I would have rather got the 40.
I know most of us on here either read or post on DS as well, and more people are coming over from DS now, but what I like about Tattle is that we don't take Strictly as seriously here, and we try not to be as obsessively defensive about our faves as some of them are on there 😉 I would hate to see this thread turn into Digital Spy 2.0.

Honestly I think polls are largely irrelevant because different platforms attract different parts of the online audience. I think the voters on those polls can only really account for 15-20% of voters maybe more but I’d say it’s way below 50%. Sure they can give a rough indication but I’d never rely on it as anything can happen.

Numbers on socials are nothing to go by either. I follow strictly on the clock app and insta and their algorithms usually push only one or two couples onto my following page or the chronological feed on insta (eg I might only get Will and Hamza pushed at me and if I want to view Molly/Helen etc I have to go on profile) YouTube is an exception because dances just drop into my sub box (but popping up on trending can be a boost)

Ikr, it's awful. Poor Giada's poor partner dancing for the fourth week in a sling. Why the duck did they give him a Paso ffs, surely there have to be easier dances to do with one arm, and how the duck did he get 49 for it?!? 😭 😂

Kym should hop over to Italy, I'm sure they'd let her do her Couple's Choice in a Hazmat suit! 😂

I’m on a long boring train journey so I’m off to YouTube it…

Edit: I’ve watched it- as expected, technically excellent but with all the sexual tension of a trip to Tesco. I vaguely remember Karim’s flowery trews and polo neck outfit. If you are doing the AT in a polo neck, you really aren’t getting it.

I think Karim & Amy may be the most asexual pairing ever to appear on Strictly.
