I have no doubt Fleur is capable of doing a great CC but I just wish it wasn't this week. The samba was such a breakthrough moment for her, I wish she had a nice traditional dance to do next to hopefully keep her on an upwards trajectory, CC is very hit and miss and it'll be a shame if it goes wrong and her confidence is knocked again :( but let's hope we're both wrong and she smashes it
Before the Samba, she smashed her Waltz the previous week so she has recently shown that she has improved in both Ballroom and Latin. Fleur's CC might be something similar to AJ's CC. I personally think that Fleur was made to do a CC to Destiny's Child.

I really wish they’d ditch CC it does the program no favours
Same. Or rather, I wish they'd stop forcing it on everyone when it's clear not everyone wants to do one.

On the American one they have Contemporary and Jazz as categories and while I hate that it means more Ballroom and Latin gets skipped, at least you know what they're supposed to be.

I’ve been lurking on DS (what do you expect me to do whilst wfh, actually do some work?) and apparently Hamza is the chosen one this series as he’s never had a bad song or theme. I must’ve hallucinated his weird futuristic jive to the weeknd and his dinosaur rumba. It’s so funny the narratives some people will create in their mind just because their fave isn’t THE fave.

Nothing makes me laugh more than the bitter weirdos calling him "the chosen one"

So dramatic, honestly. Also, lots of other contestants have had fabulous themes and music this series. I think Will has consistently had good music. And if you ask me, Tyler's paso music was an EPIC choice - it's just unfortunate that the theming was dancing inf front of a flaming gash and the choreography was... er... flaming gash.

CC is rarely that great and seems to disappoint, enjoyed Faye and Gio’s - I think the pros are good at theatre Jazz style but awful at street or contemporary, not sure if it is the choreography or the fact that maybe the pros bodies just aren’t used to the style. If they do contemporary they ought to get a choreographer like Akram Khan in, but thinking that might be a little OTT for a Saturday night light entertainment show. I did though enjoy Hamza’s, brought back some fond memories of a trip to Africa.

Yeah so many of the street/contemporary ones are meh. Not sure who’ll they get to choreograph a Destiny’s Child CC - hopefully not Gilkison (rival gang bursts in midway!)

Vito and Fleur like doing this kind of contemporary together - but you need some spectacular choreography and presumably lifts for Blackpool, not just attractive gyrating

I saw his modern version of Giselle pre-pandemic, it was the most extraordinary mixture of modern Ballet and Kathak (Indian Classical dance)

Given that he transformed the pretty, ghostly tutu-wearing brides of the original ballet into terrifying undead wraiths who beat up the principle male dancer with Really Big Sticks...I'd like to see what he'd give a Strictly dancer. It would undoubtedly be interesting!

His Giselle was stunning as was Dust and actually most of his recent work. Akram and Wayne McGregor (Woolf works was incredible), would love to see either of them choreograph a pro dance. I also think that would challenge them as well. From the males I think Kai, Nikita and Vito (maybe Carlos) are possibly the most versatile males and can do beyond ballroom and Latin dance. For the females - Katya, Nancy and Jowita for versatility

Can't have been, hadn't met her yet.

I could believe it, but I'm confused as to how the 'attacked by random thugs on the street' story got out in the first place if it really happened in a hotel room. Surely either the whole story would have leaked to the tabloids, or it would have been covered up? If he didn't want to press charges against her, why make up some other assailant at all when it would only make it seem more suspicious?

I can't be bothered looking for them now, but I'm pretty sure I remember that the earliest articles about it made it sound like the incident was reported to the tabloids by a random witness, which would lead me to think it was some random on the street who didn't know any details. If it was someone who knew what really happened, why bother to tell the tabloids a fake story that wasn't very juicy?

Maybe to explain why he was missing teeth or in case he had a black eye to explain? Only reason I can think of.

🙄 Bloody nutcases.
You only have to look at the actual chosen ones - Ore being crowned as the future of dancing by Gene Kelly’s widow, the Dooley creature being virtually picked up and flung headlong at the glitterball- to realise that no genuine chosen one would be hamstrung by a dinosaur rumba unless Jeff Goldblum himself had been flown in to play the part of the Tyrannosaurus. 😉
Oh, and lest we forget, Danny Mac was bloody robbed.

I think because he needed medical assistance they had to make some story up if he didn’t want it known it was his ex. Two teeth just don’t come out on their own.
I remember reading that other pros had to help him so maybe that was why they said they were with him, so it looked more believable.
It was all just very very odd.

It’s Will’s face for me 🤣🤣🤣

Danny Mac, Ore Oduba, don't get me started. 😩

Anyone who missed the Danny Mac season just give it a watch on You Tube, every dance a winner, his match up with Oti was off the scale and he could have been mistaken for a pro.

I mean it won them a bafta 🤣 There’s been many i’ve loved but also some that i’ve hated, if they are keeping it a part of the show then I wish they would keep it to the 3 categories they originally had.
I like the idea of CC, but it's always some random barefoot wafting in the curtains. When it's good, I think its more memorable than many ofcthe other dances, but it's often not memorable.I thought I remembered the categories, but I thought I was mistaken.

I just watched Hamzas cc again. I think he danced it to the rhythm but Jowita was a bit too fast. Also, the music ended weirdly at the end. None of them was Hamzas fault.
