It is rude that Anton labels all his past partners as duffers. Yeah that became his 'thing' and he did have a few truly awful ones but a lot of them were just middle aged women who he dismissed as not being contenders, who if they'd been paired with someone like Giovanni and had proper choreo could have gone a lot further. And some of them were actually good! Like Emma Barton and Katie Derham who he never mentions- if I were them I'd be pissed that I kept getting lumped in with Anton's comedy duffers.

Finally got it going!
Thoughts no one asked for.

I like Claudia's PJs

I (genuinely) like Motsi's bondage barbie look

Will's got a nice smile

Seemed like a real buzz in the studio for the first time this series

hamza

Love watching Hamza dance. It was a simple, basic cha cha.

(Replace tess with alison hammond, sneaky suspicion jowita is smitten with Hamza. Can't blame her)

(tony looks nervous in the audience

Nancy losing it at Carlos fixing her hair was cute

Kai and Nadiya are so hot together)

He looked like he thought he was the best dancer of the night at the end but Dianne's face said otherwise straight away

(Anton looked like he was trying to figure out whether he misheard Shirley calling her diana or trying to figure out if he'd been getting her name wrong all these years.)

i fancy her so much now. I think it would be an injustice towards that dance if they didn't have a ride after, sorry to their spouses 😆

Best AT in a couple of years I think?

I think Neil is having an "oh tit it's the strictly curse" moment there looking at them 😆😆

Helen reminded me so much of Caroline Flack (in general, not when she was on strictly) during the judges comments. I'm very taken with her now. Coming out if the chrysalis

fleur

Her sister! Their both so beautiful

Tony

He messed up a little bit, right? But he is actually pretty good with his feet and I don't think he deserves this "good effort, no darling" stuff. He's not even Ed Balls bad, he's pretty GOOD actually. And those lifts are unreal!! 100% agreed with Shirley's comments. He's technically improved more than anyone.

I don't think craig was doing mock annoyance when the lines opened. I wonder did something happen? Or was he pissed off at tony getting 6s?

They’d have been all over them like a cheap suit if there hadn’t been much content! That’s the ticket with Katya - no shirking and if you work hard, you can do it (even if your head tells you you can’t)
re-watched it a couple of times - it was quite a complex routine and Tony did have really good rhythm and salsa steps throughout -without the blips it would have merited at least a mid-range score, if not above. Shame the comments from the judges did not mention the technicalities and overall party theming of the dance (which was great) and just focused on the errors. Quite mean and unfair.

I didn’t mean to be disrespectful when I referred to it as a “sob story” - it isn’t a great term and apologise if I’ve offended anyone. But, I didn’t appreciate it when Jayde spoke about her sister and I didn’t appreciate it last night - in fact, less so with Fleur. She hasn’t deserved to be in a dance off, she certainly didn’t deserve any hassle and abuse re last week’s dance off…but I’m afraid I think it was a blatant attempt to get votes. I might have missed it but I don’t remember saying it at the start (which you might have expected if it was her dad’s favourite show) but I’m happy to be corrected. She’s competitive and wants to win, I do get that. But showing pictures is very emotive and imho, CC is the opportunity to pay a fitting tribute to a loved one.

She’s a great dancer and I understand her frustration at being in the dance off when other less competent dancers have sailed through. But I feel how I feel and I don’t like it - and wouldn’t if it was Tony or Hamza or anyone else.
I don’t think you were being in the least disrespectful. Having watched various reality shows, I am afraid my eyes roll whenever a contestant starts talking about loved ones who have died, I lose all respect for them, because it smacks of desperation and manipulation. By all means, Jayde, Fleur and anyone else can dedicate their endeavours to their loved ones, and when it is done at an appropriate time, or on an appropriate programme, then it would not be called a sob story. On a reality show where the public have to vote, and the story is told when things are not going too well, I think it is fair to refer to it as one. We are afraid to open our mouths in case we offend someone. This is a site to air our opinions and our views and those who are easily offended should perhaps stay away from social media such as this. Now, please be kind, I am an old grannie , so as such, it would be totally heartless to be rude. 😉

I just watched it online, and thought there was a lot of good stuff in there. I don't think he deserves to be treated as the comedy act by the judges.

Haven't watched properly yet to see or hear what the judges had to say but Craig actually said on ITT during the week, that Tony is what Strictly is about.
Or words to that effect anyway, because I remember thinking, wow, you have changed your tune about him. 😳

I can't fully figure out the judges re Ellie T. The first night, they were all over her and I remember thinking I hope she doesn't go so over the top every week with her reactions. As it turned out, she didn't get the chance to because they seldom or ever seem satisfied with her since.

I see that Craig gave her a 3 😳. That's downright mean, imo. They all put in the hours at this stage, and she seems to be working really hard. Plus the judges must know if the public feel someone is treated unfairly by them it pushes votes their way. 🤷‍♀️

3 was just deeply unkind at this point. It wasn't great but no way a humiliating 3.
5 would've got his point across adequately.
I don't know - humiliating somebody in public when they are obviously trying is not what I want to watch. Ellie T hiding her wee face trying not to be seen crying was quite upsetting.

It was a cracking Argentine Tango, and the way she held that Black Widow Stare at Graz for a good 10 seconds after the dance had ended was applause-worthy, she knew she had the audience in the palm of her hand and she wrung every last drop of tension she could out of it, well done Kym.

(No shenanigans though! Don't curse them! Graz is just married, Kym has had a hell of a complicated love-life and seems happy with her bloke and family now.)

Maybe that's why they keep Neil on. He now has a supernatural 6th sense when it comes to the Strictly Curse, and can spot and stop it before anything starts to happen. That's why he keeps popping up all over the auditorium! He's keeping Kai from having an orgy with Nadiya, Gio and Luba at the little tables one minute, the next he has to go and separate Fleur and Shirley, then he needs to nip up the back stairs and pull Claudia and Carlos apart before the cameras catch them!

It all makes sense! Neil is the Human Chastity Belt for Strictly!

It definitely makes sense. If anything is going to stop you feeling horny it’s Neil lingering around in the background! 😆

Imagine him walking up to graz and Kym and being like "I didn't think it would come to this, we're going to have to have a talk" and using a device like the men in black mind wiper to clear any sexual tension from them after he reminds them about their spouses

thats it, isn’t it … there was clear water between her and Tyler and she could have had a 5 from Craig and a 6 from Shirley and there still would have been clear water between her and Tyler … but she might not have felt humiliated and had all the confidence knocked out of her and, should they get through to next week, JoJo wouldn’t have to spend all Monday putting her back together again.

Even Len, who wasn’t a stranger to random huffy scoring, said he thought everyone deserved at least a 3 … one point for knowing right, one for knowing left and one for actually getting out on the floor in the first place and started from there

Has anyone actually seen anything that’s actually nasty towards shirls ? Most of what I’ve seen on the bird app was people simply pissed off Shirley not being able to get a colleague of six years name correct (especially when she can correctly name everyone else) and the general questions as to why she dislikes fleur (also people calling other S names in jest) she doesn’t deserve hate (she deserves to be criticised and called out on her bullshit though) unless I’m missing something nobody has said said anything that bad.

I admire Dianne for calling out genuine hate (like when shirls was getting death threats etc) but I’m not sure why she’s standing up for a woman who clearly doesn’t like her all that much and only has nice things to say when she’s dancing with eye candy.

I’ve thought it since her samba but Kym is improving every week and might have peaked right at the perfect time? I don’t think she has any chance of winning but I wouldn’t be surprised to see her in the final, I think she’s absolutely brilliant and it has been nice to see her confidence grow over the weeks. Her partnership with Graz is lovely too.

But slight justified questioning now apparently is 'hate'.
'Why do you repeatedly call a woman by the wrong name? ' = HATE.
