Katya was incredibly frustrated because Tony apparently had performed the dance perfectly in training and fluffed it in the night. When they finished you could see she wanted to scream.
I may be wrong but I don’t think they dislike each other; I just think she’s had an incredibly difficult and challenging job on her hands. Plus I’m sure Tony will be a personality who isn’t used to taking orders!
Katya has really won me over; I wasn’t sure if I liked her, but I now think she’s a brilliant, positive force of energy.

i don’t think they dislike each other either: based on itt they have a nice enough vibe and seem to get on. i feel like tony respects her a lot and obviously wants to do well but just falls back on self deprecation and jokes when he messes up (like a lot of us do!) she did seem annoyed but i felt for him, he started the dance on the wrong foot and then obviously just couldn’t work out how to get it back on track.

that being said, i know katya’s thing is to be fearless in lifts etc but a lot of the ones in that dance were clearly above tony’s capabilities and he came across as obviously nervous about them. though that could also have been stress from knowing the dance wasn’t going well.

i love katya and am adding my signature to “give katya a contender for 2023” campaign. she deserves it.

Interesting show last night.
I found the whole "soft-styled Fleur" concept predictable and rather cynical, and the mentioning of her dead father really put the tin hat on it all. It got her through this week, but what can she do to get votes next week?! I get why she did it, but it felt rather cheap and transparent tbh.
Ellie T's rumba was boring and technically not great. I thought Craig's 3 was unnecessarily harsh but it really didn't deserve more than fours and fives.
Tyler's dance wasn't much fun to watch and his bum was sticking out a lot. I think he was a bit overmarked.
Ellie S did well within her range of capability but I think her time on the show must be coming to an end really. Good god but she never stops talking!
Will's dance looked a bit messy to me.
Hamza's score reminded me yet again that I don't understand the Cha Cha (Cha, darling). It looked OK to me, not up to his usual standard, so I was surprised to see Motsi and Shirley on their feet and to hear the effusive comments! He's a joy to watch but this was my least favourite performance of his.
Molly did another lovely dance but it was a bit dull and she just exudes smug 😬 Did anyone else feel, when she turned to look at camera between movements, that instead of looking romantic (as is presumably intended) she just looked so fecking pleased with herself, like she was thinking "yep I've nailed it again 🥰" 🤣
Kym is playing a blinder. She's really settled in to the competition now.
Helen is going from strength to strength. I still find her a bit gentle in her movements in certain dances but she's so naturally graceful.
Tony did ok but he looked a bit strained again. Obviously a hard week of training - Katya seemed to believe he danced it better in rehearsals but its hard to know whether that's true or either she just talks a good game! I'm interested to see what he pulls out of the bag next week.

Shirley seems to be going out of her way to get herself fired or demoted. Getting Dianne's name wrong again - so unprofessional.
Making everything about herself - rumba queen, anyone who knows me knows I first danced the jive etc - I don't think anyone has mentioned to her how boring it is to listen to her bring everything back to herself?
And don't even get me started on the tiny shoes. None of us needed a prop to aid explanation of the difference between dancing on your toes and stomping your foot down. She is so rarely constructive. Ridiculous choice for head judge.

Regards the JF incident, it was different times and attitudes weren't the same as now. I remember the monkey chants, the banana throwing of the late 80s, to have a openly gay brother just led to more chanting and vitriol - (even from his own supporters). I've seen programmes and read articles where John has since shown remorse, but him offering money wasn't why Justin took his own life.
It wasnt that different. I remember it distinctly and JF was considered a dinisaur at the time. Not in the football community maybe, but they are still homophobic to this day, so that is no excuse. Of course he regrets it. His brother killed himself.

Watching this morning as I CBA last night.

Hamza - not sure it was 10 worthy, but I really enjoyed it. Pointless props at the start though
Ellie - I actually enjoyed it. Not amazing obvs, but I think she's improving as a dancer. Very harsh from Craig.
Mollie - lovely. So cute of Carlos correctly her hair in the Claudatorium
Ellie - fab. That last lift!
Tyler - thought it looked a bit stompy in the middle fleckle. Not the best. Did Shirley call Diane Diana?
Kym - wow. Loved it. Love an AT. I think that was better than Hamza's
Will - fine. Didn't wow me
Helen - Really fun. Gorka though 🤩
Fleur - Beautiful. duck off Shirley. Is that Vito's mum 😳
Tony - lol.

Anton was too generous with his 10s tonight.

I skipped a lot and watched it in less than an hour.

I am obv a Fleur defender but I don’t think she was cynically looking for votes. I knew she would want to pay tribute to her dad as he died at the start of lockdown. I don’t see the point of waiting for a CC to do that, which may never come (and anyway I’d imagine F+V might do an uptempo CC).
Obviously other people feel differently but one of the things I’ve always liked about SCD is the emotional dimension and how intensely celebs start to feel about it.

Anyway, we must protect this man at all costs- an Italian who weeps at the very sight of his hot mamma!

I don't have a problem with the way Fleur brought up her dad - it wasn't overdone and tbh, I don't like people referring to grief as a "sob story". Call me a softy snowflake but that's incredibly tactless when somebody has died.

Noticed Vito getting all teary eyed at his parents (and also his gorgeous mother! No wonder he's a looker)

Gosh, yes. I can absolutely see it! I’ve thought this for a long time….you can tell she finds it all incredibly frustrating. Last night at the end of the show, you could see her in the background, back to camera, and it looked like she was giving him a right tickin’ off!
Katya Jones is fiercely competitive and it shows, she has openly said she wants to be the best at everything she does. I love Katya Jones, she’s my favourite but sometimes you do need another person to help you achieve that aim. We all know of Tony’s struggles in the past and I personally think that ‘one day at a time’ is always paramount to him and he just can’t give Katya the million percent she demands of him, I get that but don’t think Katya does. There seems to be a pattern of lovely people but poor dancers getting to Blackpool but then they leave at Blackpool or the week after, I see this happening, the public want the final weeks to be a proper competition inasmuch as it can be.
And Katya, when you have time please come on a girls’ night out with me and my friends, I bet you are fabulous company.

Nah, SCD is turning into Dancing with the Stars! Tony needs to go,
Production know what they are doing with the right choice of music and props for his dance to keep him on and why do they keep mentioning arsenal? It’s all to keep him in 🤬 the scoring is all over the place, who was the best and then who was not quite the best 😵‍💫

I hate the whole sob story thing but everyone else has done it and it is Fleur’s turn now cos her great dancing isn't enough for people to vote for her 🤷🏾‍♀️

Sending you lots of love, I miss my dad every day too. As with Jayde, Couple’s Choice would have been a great way to dedicate a song to someone, and imvho, even though there’s no guarantees anyone will be able to do a CC, it feels wrong to just drop it in randomly because it then blatantly looks like a push for votes
Losing a parent is awful especially if they were very much loved, but once we get to a certain age, most of us have had to go through it. So for Fleur to say she is doing the show for her Dad will resonate with a big chunk of the population. If she had kept this to herself until her goodbye speech, it might have reached my cynical heart. But I am afraid when she said it, I thought “no, you’re doing it for the money”

There is not a right minded individual who would not feel sorry for any person who has experienced a bereavement, most of us have, indeed many have lost both parents, however to say that we go to work for them is just ridiculous. As lets face it SCD is work for Fleur.

I appreciate I am sticking my neck above the parapet saying this, as many have agreed with you, but I don't like when bereavement stories are told in a reality competition. I find it such a turn off.

Contestants/competitiors who have done this leave me cold.

Not the money she just wanted the public to like her a bit more and keep her in the competition; a reverse analogy perhaps but there are some things money cannot buy,

re Kym's AT - rewatching this - so impressed with her flexibility and determination. She has real grit.
Graz is now one of my favourite pros - as well as the dark-tuxedoed & pony-tailed eye-candy - he seems so kind and supportive and is having the chance to shine this series (out of the Gio shadow?) and long may it last.

i think/hope it might be a turning point for her. it was outstanding (and undermarked imo) - and i really like their friendship. graziano is lovely and i think he’s the one pro who can fill the gap aljaz has left energy-wise. i hope we see them around a lot longer too, i’ve always thought that helen and hamza are dead on for the final but that third place is up for grabs imo. she’s certainly deserving of it!

I'm sure Neil mouthed are you ok to her when they were with Claudia

I thought I would be indifferent to Kym - I should add I know nothing about her except from when I used to watch Corrie years ago, and disliked the character she played.

I think in the early stages she held herself back in her reactions to being voted through, or not, as a kind of self preservation. I also think she expected to be gone early doors. But a week or two ago, she really showed her delight at going through which was totally genuine, and an unexpected 'letting go' for her.

The judges at times criticised stuff such as one night Shirley and possibly Anton also said she lacked stamina. Craig however contradicted whoever said it, and while obviously the judges are the experts, and I most certainly am not, I definitely did not see anything that suggested she lacked stamina. Nor did Craig!

I think she works really really hard, and I have enjoyed all of her dances. I havent caught up yet on last night.
I love seeing her and Graz on ITT. They have a great partnership. I think she deserves to get to the final.
