It is a tough year for Strictly content - by this time last year the AJ and Kai shipping and Rose and Gio shipping were underway - not so many stories loosely based around posts on social media to work with this year 😂

It is all pretty dull this year, isn’t it? No wonder the media are having to whip stories up out of nothing.

Next week’s big scandal: the catering division thought they’d ran out of chips and so the dancers refused to go on as they weren’t adequately carb-loaded, but then someone found a bag at the back of the freezer so it was all fine.
 
Im ready for some new pros - but they need to be qualified ten dance professionals, don’t tell me that there are none available and we have to use burn the floor for recruitment forever.

Luba, Michelle, Lauren, Cameron get a partner (not sure if Cameron is good enough)

Yeah, I think the idea that she got a 'do-over' is what is harmful to her. They basically restarted it before they had done any dancing, more or less like Ramps (though they had actually started dancing). Vito fell off the chair, presumably dragging Fleur down with him.
I am now even more sympathetic to Vito - he wanders in from winning Italian DWTS and a romance with his partner, only to get accidentally caught up in a sexist feud about Shirley, and now in gammon wars about the BBC, motivated by Tory desire to privatise them, pushed by a right-wing tabloid! He must be wondering if he can pop back over to Italy, have a sexy wander round the dancefloor with his partner, and get 10s..
 
The line up needs a big shake up they have a lot of Pro's that have been around 5-7 year mark, in the past that's usually when they moved on but this current crop seem reluctant to move on themselves.

Who I would Keep
Females: Katya (but give her a proper contender for a nice swan song) Nadiya, Jowitta and Nancy
Males: Kai, Nikkita, Johannes, Vito and Carlos
The Bench: Have maybe 1 or 2 on it but stop trying to make it like a DWTS troupe it's naff.

Looking at that I'm surprised I only want 9/20 current pros. I'm fond of a lot of the ones I would like to say goodbye too but there comes a time especially after 7 consecutive runs the pros seem to run out of steam.
 
It feels kind of likely there will be a bit of natural pro movement soon anyway- Lauren and Vito feel very much lined up as Amy/Gio replacements for the future, maybe Michelle as a Karen replacement too. If Karen goes, I could see Luba moving on too (particularly if Gio goes too as they are her closest friends on the show and she hasn’t exactly been treated well).

Gio has shown he handles a less able partner not that well this year so I could see him moving on, but maybe he’ll stay for the promo for his tours etc. Amy I think will want a family soon, and Karen has moved up north with her new husband. I could be totally wrong though 🤣

It's absolutely not. You can already see the gammon--flavoured comments of people frothing about unfair treatment. Most of these knuckle-draggers just read the headline without bothering to read the article and see the quote from the BBC spokesperson which literally says it was a tech malfunction, they hadn't even started dancing and they needed to be stopped to check they were okay.
 
I can see Lauren being given a shot before Michelle as she seems more media-savvy. I do wonder about Cameron..

As a Liverpool fan I don't read the Sun, but saw the front page reproduced.. The headline is gross as Fleur is named as if it's her fault, with a huge pic of her. Clearly trying to get the gammons frothing (to mix metaphors!), and using the verb 'hoodwink'!

Does anyone remember the Melvin/Anastasia dance off that didn't happen because Anastasia couldn't do her dance again? I can't remember all the details, but it sounded like it was several hours of everyone running around like headless chickens before deciding to go with who had the lowest public vote - they should have plans in place to so they definitely know what to do in case someone is injured

At least Melvin got a Christmas special win out of it 🤣

If I remember correctly, Anastasia said she couldn’t dance again because it was salsa with lots of arm stuff and it exaccerbated her mastectomy scars?

The best one from problem solving down the pub on the back of a beer mat was the semifinal Horlicks of series 6. Phone lines open, people voting (no free votes in those days, money going to CiN, Blue Peter already with misnamed pussy cat and having to apologise for calling deciding to call ‘Cookie’ ‘Socks’, and having to get another kitten to actually call Cookie, fun times), Tess regularly telling people to ‘vote for who they wanted to save from the dance off’ when the Judges in their wisdom decided to tie Lisa and Rachel on points … meaning that, given the way the points were allocated at that time … Tom couldn’t be saved from the dance off even if he topped the public vote. That basically just lead to them throwing their arms in the air, ditching The dance off, carrying the votes over and deciding to give It some thought for next year.

BREAKING NEWS 'However a vicious row developed when the judges walked out in protest at not getting any chips... 🤣 A BBC spokesperson refused to comment on the ongoing 🍟 feud.'

I'm enjoying the show though 😁 especially because of the discussion here.

As a Liverpool fan I also avoid the scum like the plague, but I got a pretty good idea of the reaction to the story on Facebook where they are being as cruel as ever. These people can’t even take 2 minutes to read the full story before throwing abuse around, it’s really sad.

Fleur being the headline for taking part in a dancing show, meanwhile that utter scumbag is pushed away to the corner. Maybe put him front and centre after all he’s done over the years and after this latest stupid decision to go into the jungle, rather than Fleur who gets hate simply for existing.
