Brendan and James were "fiery" charactersReading the posts here and enjoying the clips from previous series as I'm relatively new to Strictly, am I right in thinking that some of the previous pros used to argue with the judges?

Yes, now none of them dare answer back or theyāre off the tour and the next series. Len hated that dance (from 4:08) and Brendan told him to go to Specsavers:
Thought he actually was quite unkind to Brendan there who had just missed a week for his dad's funeral.

Her Halloween Time Warp jive with Brendan as Riff Raff in a bald cap was special
Edit
Strictly, compared to the rest of the British reality celeb competition circuit is woefully underpaid for the celebs. Ā£35k fees for celebs, I think there is some uplift depending on how far they get. And it's a lot of work even if they are eliminated first it's a few weeks dance training.DWTS must offer so much more money than Strictly - and strictly is one of the most expensive shows on the BBC isnāt it? The costumes and the lighting and the special stage - the cgi budget must be pants however given what they are doing.

Itās the shorts and spats combo that gets me every time ā¦ that and Brendan over dancing and over acting his little heart out.Yes, once upon a time the āweāre all one big, happy, sparkly familyā script wasnāt surgically injected into the brains of everyone involved in the show and it was possible to do a bit of a rubbish dance, argue with the judges, not burst into tears, and maybe even slam a few doors.
Ah, the good old days
Brendan always made me dry heave, but I do love this dance for the sheer INSANITY of it all! ā¤
But, on the other hand they are getting 3 months of promo and guaranteed exposure every day on the tele for as long as they are in and then while the series is still running and even afterwards to some extent. I think many of the benefits to Strictly (for those not contractually obligated in the small print) come from the actual being on Strictly not from the payment of it.Strictly, compared to the rest of the British reality celeb competition circuit is woefully underpaid for the celebs. But compared to other shows, if you are the celeb in the jungle earning the Ā£35k fee, you were very low down the ladder.

he has now joined the Big Finnish audio productions. When asked why he shrugged and said money during the pandemicI love Christopher Eccleston. Does Doctor Who for one season, didn't have the nicest time doing it for various reasons, doesn't talk about it for a decade, never comes back for any specials or features or retrospectives for the last 15 years...
And then sends in a weird, whispery mobile message about how much he thinks Tyler will kick ass dancing to the theme song on It Takes Two, of all things. How perfectly unexpected and bizarre!

Yeah, it's funny, why did he suddenly start going to conventions for Who and doing the M&G, funny, the money way good.he has now joined the Big Finnish audio productions. When asked why he shrugged and said money during the pandemic
I read somewhere that she would only do it if Sasha was her partner, he was originally supposed to be in the troupe this year. She ended up having to drop out because of her MS. She seems like a lovely person, everyone was in tears watching her last dance.Pam did alright in France, 5th place after four 20-somethings including the pretty boy actor (who won), the hunky model and a Miss France. At least she finally topped a leaderboard after all those attempts across the pond and on DOI.
Apparently Selma Blair was a late casting to DWTS. She's also neighbours with her pro partner so must have been a little bit easier to entice. Though there are a lot of people in the DWTS cast who aren't that famous.
But not many of them really get that much out of Strictly really do they? They might get some opportunities they wouldn't have otherwise, but fee have built something off the back of Strictly. But, on the other hand they are getting 3 months of promo and guaranteed exposure every day on the tele for as long as they are in and then while the series is still running and even afterwards to some extent. I donāt understand how, ore, Tom or the chap whose name I can't remember (danced with katya) wonI'll never understand how in the world Stacey Dooley ended up winning.
Wtf.
Throwback to her Les Mis American Smooth to I Dreamed A Dream when she was grinning like "Whee! This is fun!" while I being carried symbolically by the oppressed into a pit of supposed despair, death and decay.
I donāt understand how, ore, Tom or the chap whose name I can't remember (danced with katya) won
Ore and Tom I don't get but I do understand Joe winning - that was purely down to how exciting and innovative Katya's choreography was and how well he took to her ideas. I think his competition was Debbie and Alexandra, who were both perceived as too ringery.

But if you had never seen les mis, how would know that?
