I’m completely cynical by nature which is why I think there’s always ‘something’! I would like nothing more than them to get together if they like each other. But all I can see just now is him knowing AJ is very good early on = people voting for the personal journey or the slow burner or the person they didn’t think they’d like but now love, and they need something else

I know she’s only in her mid 40’s but whenever they danced it just reminded me of a mother dancing with her son 😭

I guess we will see, if they do end up having a thing it might not even be long term. Whether they play up to it or not though they 100% do have a connection and in my opinion the best chemistry between a strictly pairing in years, so you never know it could end up being soemthing more 🤷🏻‍♀️ I just love a romance and the gossip if i’m honest 😂

I think Kai is channeling this “are they aren’t they” because he knows enough about the show to play the game. Last year I think Ranvir and Giovanni both decided to create the “I’m blossoming from a dowdy divorcee, will I fall in love with my partner?” story because people do become invested in it. She was as desperate to win as much as he was and yes she turned into a better Ballroom dancer but she wasn’t going to win on her dancing alone imo

I think even though John is good from the start, I personally won’t get bored of them. Johannes is so good with his choreography and they’re so good together that it’ll be exciting to see what they come out and do each week.

Also I hope they don’t shy away from being just as flirty and sexy in their Latin numbers like samba or salsa as the male/female partnerships get to be and everyone hollers for it.
 
What happened to the announcement of the song and dances?! They normally announce it on a Tuesday at around 2:30?!

It’s been varied since this series began, i don’t think we got the songs for week 1 until thursday or friday so maybe they don’t have a set day/time this year. To be fair most of the couples end up revealing what they are doing on social media or ITT anyway 😂

So many of the winners have been dull. I'd add Stacey & Bill to that mix alongside Natasha Kaplinsky and Darren Gough if we talk the early years. Abbey Clancy was good at ballroom but I can't remember her latin being anywhere near that of Natalie Gumede and even Sophie Ellis-Bextor was more memorable. Caroline, Jay & Kelvin are the only legitimate deserved winners in the last several years.

At the end of the day they are performing for our entertainment.

Saw the mention on ITT and did wonder if that was a dig from Gemma that she only trained 3 hours or whether it was a sincere pity they didn't have enough training time.
Gorka was very she's the best partner blah de blah, but he wasn't very convincing

John Whaite said earlier that Gorka had been teaching him a move whilst they were waiting to go on Steph's P. Lunch and it was very good. He also said that he will probably be doing the lifts as at 16stones he is 3 stone heavier than his partner.

That definitely did not seem true at all. Ranivr and Giovanni seemed like people who had a really nice connection, and who helped each other during a difficult lockdown. Both spoke very warmly of the other afterwards. But Kai is Giovanni's roommate so maybe has learned from him about manipulating the public's emotions - remember the rumours about Gio and Debbie McGee??

Also: I was convinced at the time there was something going on between Jay and Aliona, even though she was married. Maybe there was or maybe it was just the SCD 'intensity'..
