Jay & Aliona 100% & I believe it more so now that they haven’t remained in contact at all. To be that close, you’d remain friends even if you didn’t see each other so much. Lots of Strictly celebs remain great friends with their dance partners. These two, not a hint. Suspicious.

I dunno - he was in tears on their final ITT so unless he is Robert De Niro there was a lovely bond between them. Though, as you say, maybe he just pretends that with all his partners. I noticed him saying about Rose the other day something about how she was the first partner who'd ever followed him properly, which was almost exactly what he said last year! so maybe it is all a patter..
its his patter all pros gush. Friends for life etc. but most never meet again once the filming stops. It’s their job to charm the celeb and get the best dance level out of them.
Ranvir was crying during that last ITT show he was being sweet but definitely not crying.
Some fans get too invested and even when told multiple times by Gio that he wasn’t seeing her they insisted otherwise. (I noticed Ranvir didn’t deny it asmuch she misled people too !)
I felt she talked over everyone on ITT last week I hope they don’t ask her back she does the same on every show she is on.

Well you clearly dislike her a lot so that is fine. I thought she was good last week. My point is just that it all seems a bit cynical on his part. Last year was the first time I really liked him, and I can't really get invested in him and Rose this year - it just feels like he is turning on his sensitivity meter again and dialling it up.

I also think it's noticeable which judges are and aren't making an effort to learn some
A colleague and I were talking about Sign Language not long ago and we both think it should be introduced in mainstream learning - I had to pick between French and German to learn and I can barely remember any of the French I’d learned. It would be nice for kids to have that option.

I think Claudia has learned some but yeah the Judges could be polite enough to learn even a few key words.

One of the reasons I liked Rose is she seems very sure of herself & not remotely bothered by Gio & his charms. She’s not his typical damsel in distress. & I like that he’s learning some sign language.

I love that about her. I really feel like this partnership was as much for Giovanni as it was for her - you can see how much he's learning from her and having to adapt, and it's lovely to see the change in him.

Oh I’ve not noticed the judges, are any of them bothering?
I think I’ve seen Craig do a couple of words (including a-may-zing 🥰) but I’m not sure about the others. I know she’s got interpreters but it would be nice if they all learned even the basic dance words.

I find it really emotional when everyone does the sign for applause rather than clapping, or it was at the end of Saturday’s dance anyway

I couldn’t get the article to open properly but 9/15 is quite a lot - but then it’s like that every year I guess. Learning about the beat of the music and placings and finishing moves etc does put someone at a bit of an advantage - Len Goodman said on GMB a few weeks ago that he has no problem with same sex couples but does have an issue with contestants with previous dance training
It’s all when they were at school though - I did ballet, stage, ballroom and Latin at various points when I was a kid. One class a week for ten years does not make you a professional and I would still be useless at strictly. Ashley Roberts was paid to be a dancer in the pussycat dolls because no one else really sang except the main one so that’s a big difference.

Saw the mention on ITT and did wonder if that was a dig from Gemma that she only trained 3 hours or whether it was a sincere pity they didn't have enough training time.
Gorka was very she's the best partner blah de blah, but he wasn't very convincing

I did think there could be a little dig in that too. As someone else on here said, it’s pretty insulting to Gorka to only be able to give him 3 hours of your time a day, when he is trying to teach you a skill he is passionate about

I only saw it today - his face when Katie said they would keep in touch 😂

I hope he’s just disappointed at how this year worked out and not leaving. If they were to have more kids I wouldn’t be surprised if he called it a day

To be fair, he’s doing it because it’s the job he’s being paid to do, he’s not doing it out of the goodness of his heart 🤷‍♀️

Katie’s not the first contestant to have to juggle Strictly around her work schedule, and she won’t be the last. I don’t understand how that’s ‘insulting’ to the pros; as long as they do what they’re contracted to do, they’ve fulfilled the job spec and they get their fee. And the producers sign people up knowing they’ve got other simultaneous commitments, so three months of empty calendar space isn’t a prerequisite for taking part.

The BBC love to spin the gushy ‘greatest thing I’ve ever done in my life, one big happy family, dreaming of winning the glitterball’ shtick, but at the end of the day they’re all there (pros, contestants, judges, presenters, musicians, etc.) because it’s a job they’re paid to do.

So many of the winners have been dull. I'd add Stacey & Bill to that mix alongside Natasha Kaplinsky and Darren Gough if we talk the early years. Abbey Clancy was good at ballroom but I can't remember her latin being anywhere near that of Natalie Gumede and even Sophie Ellis-Bextor was more memorable. Caroline, Jay & Kelvin are the only legitimate deserved winners in the last several years.
Been some really memorable others though...loved Faye from Steps ..her dance from the Sound of Music was soo good.

They're dancing the Cha-Cha-Cha to Prince's "Raspberry Beret" on Saturday. Talk about cha-cha-charming! 🤗💃🕺
Rylan calling out to Rose with the necklace on ITT tonight was a bit odd tonight! But I love Rose and Gio...their Instagram is hilarious!

Anyone find it strange that the couples are all squished together and holding on to each other at the Clauditorium after the dance. Surely standing next to each other is enough.
