Also being partnered with Oti 😍 the sexiest pairing. Was such a shame they didn’t win.
That's what happens in the final when its 100% audience vote. It ends up just as a popularity contest and the winner is often not the best dancer, but the one who has had the best 'journey' or does the most entertaining one dance. But then again, its not Come Dancing, so its really just Saturday night entertainment and many of the celebs who do it do it because they want to move out of Soaps or off kids TV or whatever rather than for the love of dance!

I really enjoyed this dance too - Anita and Jay were my favourites of that year! A 6 from Craig was harsh af. It does seem a bit DWTS with the 'slightly too raunchy for a family show' choreo but Strictly was always better when they let things like this slide

I just find it odd how Ore received the most votes in the final when he was in the dance off more times than any of the other finalists. Has it ever happened before where the winner has been in danger that many times?

The 2016 series is the only time where I've ever been suspect about what went on behind the scenes. It was always obvious that all the Cliftons were pegged as finalists based on the celebs they were given and they definitely wanted one of them to win. We might not all be AJ fans here but he and Claudia were treated badly by the show for the whole series and then tossed into the bin in the semi finals which ensured both remaining Clifton got to the final. Danny was maybe a bit too ringery to win but how were Ore & Louise getting more votes in the final? A winner who was unpopular mid series? Seems strange to me.

Should have been a good series and the routines from both Danny & Ed live on to this day but it was the most manipulated the show has ever been (and I sat through all 13 weeks of the 2019 series).

I recently rewatched Gangnam Style for the first time in years. My god, the insanity, but also, some great lifts and gave Ed some dance content. Iconic

Claudia and AJ's charleston and quickstep were two of my favourite routines from the series. They were really undermarked. The semi-final dance off was completely the wrong two couples. Louise was good but vanilla. Ore was just completely stiff and not worthy of a place in the final after his two dances. I agree that series was completely manipulated to push a Clifton win. And the thing is, Kevin and Joanne were both likeable enough at that point. The whole pushing of the Cliftons in that series is what turned most people off them and made them think 'hang on a second, there are other professionals who are equally as talented and who don't have the privelege of being able to push a family connection'.

One of my favourite Strictly moment. :ROFLMAO: When Ed signed up I would never imagined he would be up for committing himself to such a dance. He had excellent timing in that dance, he was on the beat the whole time, not bad for an old duffer.

And who can forget his jive to Great Balls of Fire? or the time he nearly dropped Katya in the AS??!
I’d forgotten about the American Smooth! This is why I think she’s a great choreographer, she 100% brought out the best in Ed and they were so entertaining.

I loved Joe and Katya’s showdance (another one of my favourite songs). It would be a real shame if she left

Why did Joanne immediately quit after lifting the trophy?
