There seems to be an unofficial ban on DOI contestants entering Strictly (at least those who’ve done it over the last few years) so I expect DOI pros would be off limits as well

I can understand why people would go from Strictly to DOI, but not the other way round. Strictly is head and shoulders above the skating... it doesn't matter what ITV throw at DOI, they just can't seem to make it feel like an expensive production.
Slightly off topic, but I've always felt like one of the biggest problems about DOI is that nobody really knows the professionals, whereas on Strictly, the pro dancers basically ARE the celebs.
