I really think Tilly is the one to watch and potentially a real dark horse. I can definitely see J&J being the shock elimination that strictly production seem to really really love.
However if they did get eliminated you just know they’d be inundated with complaints about how homophobic strictly is. (Although the three main front runners are deaf,black and gay so people would probably whinge and throw certain accusations around regardless because people are annoying)

Unfortunately J&J peaked really early with the pirates dance. This happens with some contestants and some can’t come back from it and end up eliminated earlier than they should, it’s almost a reverse to the typical journey contestant.

Their last couple of dances have really lacked something (for me at least they have). The quickstep seemed to go on for ages tonight and had a lot of very samey content and repeated sections. There’s also something about John I can’t put my finger on. There’s just something unlikeable and I don’t know what it is. I just get weird vibes from him.

Re couples choice

I think they dropped the categories when basically everyone was “choosing” street/commercial (commercial dance being a really open to interpretation because it takes in so much as. Commercial dance being mostly the kind of dancing you’d see backing dancers do at a pop concert). I imagine it’s also very dependent on what choreographers are available.

This. Only two good dances the whole evening is pretty poor. AJ was ok too, but a bit forgettable

Just someone do something interesting next week for the love of god. We've still got weeks to go and it's not fair to rely on just Rose and Gio to entertain us!
 
I live in hope that J&J will claw it back. I still see a lot of potential. I think they need a wow dance next week, preferably in hold. A well choreographed Argentine Tango from the outside team, perhaps?

Their dance this week was not it though, this year we've had quite a few naff quicksteps but these two should have delivered much better.

I felt the same with AJ, tbh. She is so good and I love her, but I was bored. Technically good, but we've seen it. Blah blah sizzling passion, yeah yeah ballroom, we get it. Silly Charleston next week, yeah?

Woah there! I usually just lurk on this thread but have to jump in as I’ve met Anton socially through his wife’s family and he was a delight. He is as daft as a brush and full of terrible jokes but he’s kind and a thoroughly decent chap who is devoted to his family.

Horses for courses of course because I know this doesn’t mean he’s a joy to work with, but from what I’ve seen of him he’s a good one.
 
Saras dancing , dreadful. Aljaz in leather on the other hand, warmed me right up after standing outside watching fireworks.
Rose and Giovanni. They were incredible, he looked genuinely choked up with the feedback. They are my winners ( sorry that sounds so very tit) . Lots of average dances, dance off could be Sara, Adam, Dan, Tom, Judi. The group dance was bloody odd, didn’t concentrate as I was trying to work out who was who. Did I mention Aljaz in leather 💋

I have never liked John, from Bake Off days. He used to do a segment on Lorraine too, some of his comments on there were so contrived, used to shoehorn in innuendos. There was always an inauthentic vibe from him, and now his plastic appearance has caught up with his personality. He seems fake. I used to like Johannes but he gets on my wick now. When I watch their dances, I watch Johannes, who is an amazing dancer. John is a bit lumpen imho. Overmarked too.

Based on what has been said here about Tom & Giovanna’s fan base, it seems inevitable that he will reach the final.

Loved him on bake off but I agree as soon as he got into the media he changed. Like he had to be more stereotypical gay, and play up to that character. Was so disappointing as on bake off I felt finally here is just a guy next door, no stereotype attention seeking etc. Representation for a large sector of gay community who aren't represented on tv.

One of the oddest pro dances I’ve seen. Also found the whooping and muttering in it weird too!

I'm disgusted at the prospect of Tom reaching the final because some people are still unfortunate enough to think McFly is good music. He comes across like he thinks he's so much better than he is, and basically anybody would be more deserving in the final than smarmy McFurlough. Yes, even Judi can just twerk for the entirety of her showdance and I'd still prefer that to anything Amy can crank out of Tom.

I have no idea what is going on with their dancing. They aren't doing it for me anymore. They are decent but not "Wow that was fecking amazing!" Maybe you're right and they are trying to pace themselves.

I definitely think AJ and Rose will be in the final and deservedly so! I thought John would be the 3rd finalist but I'm unsure now.

I love this thread for that reason - different viewpoints are discussed rather than it being cliquey with folk being shut down if they disagree

I posted a similar comment about John being unlikeable. I get disingenuous vibes from him.. there is something about him that makes me uncomfortable.
