I’m not sure about Ben.. he’s always struck me as a fairly private person... he’s deactivated insta previously (here come the girls era) and didn’t really seem to join in that much in vlogs (he was there and said stuff occasionally but seemed disinterested) I’m sure in first lockdown they did some lives together but I don’t think they have this time 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

I don’t know really they could be really happy and planning a wedding or they could be working through some stuff. The pandemic has forced a lot of couples to reevaluate things and perhaps they’re one of them.

But I’ll never get over how mortified JJ looked when she was jumping up and down screaming in his ears (doesn’t he have some hearing loss as part of his injuries?) I did feel a bit for the poor guy.

If he didn't have hearing loss before he will do now

I think Amy & Ben are still together, they just seem like a low profile couple.

My ears are still recovering from the screaming at last year's results shows. I don't expect her to leave but hopefully she gets a duffer this year and is out first/second so we don't have to hear much of it. Perhaps Dr. Alex from Love Island, I can see them wanting an NHS worker this year and they're both Welsh. Despite his backstory, he'd likely be the boring type of duffer so would be out first.

I think they have split. She doesn’t do any dance classes with him. He dances with the other teacher at the school. She didn’t post at Christmas or anything when she returned home from strictly.
I’m pretty sure he’s been in some of her lives and she’s still wearing her engagement ring.

Brb just hyper ventilating 😩😩

Saw a suggestion that Oti gets a mega ringer this year as a reward for getting Bill to the win (as if his popularity didn't seal the deal from Week 2 when people saw he could actually dance). Perish the thought!

Giovanni is another one I'm sick of always seeing in/near the finals.
I can’t work out why Giovanni has never won. He’s had more than his fair share of good dancers, has been in so many finals/close to final and is clearly popular yet never won 🤷🏻‍♀️

Mostly bad luck. Jay & Bill were guaranteed to win in their years so no win with either Georgia or Ranvir. Faye was a ringer though I think she was the partner of his who I wanted to win the most. Michelle wasn't popular with the main audience and Laura was unlikeable. I guess he had a real shot with Debbie, if Bill could do it, I don't know why Debbie couldn't have. Alexandra & Gemma were never going to win that final so it was just Joe to compete with and I don't think he was that much of a standout to be a guaranteed winner.

Feels like the show is kinda pushing for Gio to win but I'm not fussed at this stage, plenty have done 8 or more series and not won. It either happens or it doesn't. Can understand why he's popular but I never fully warmed to him.

Artem, Aljaž, Brendan, Pasha all got their moments as well. Male pros are at a disadvantage but another female celeb will take it eventually. They just need to stop casting male celebs who are hugely popular with the main SCD demographic and would win if they had any dance ability.

Some people on Digital Spy speculating that we have another 9 week series. Goes against what Shirley says but apparently Anton was on TV a few days ago and said that they are looking for 12 celebs which suggests a shortened run.

Thoughts? Can't lie that if places are opened back up in the autumn while Strictly is on another shortened 9 week run with strict bubbles and full of couple's choice routines like last year, I think I'll just opt to go out rather than committing to watching it live.

So annoying if thats the case. If things are actually going back to normal and its safe to do so, why do we need to be reminded of social distancing and everything on Strictly?? Its going to put a lot of people off watching if theres genuinely no need for them to do it the same as last year.

I doubt this will be the case. By September everyone involved should be vaccinated especially any older celebs and the crew(who have potentially had theirs already in order to work on other projects). If not by then anybody who’s at a higher risk will have been vaccinated so they’ll be less pressure and appointments more readily available.

I can’t see the bbc wanting to loose money from phone votes either. There might be some leftover covid protocols but I can’t see them shortening the series again. Not when people are missing out on blackpool and some of the dances thus not getting the whole strictly experience.

I saw someone say it was to do with finances and that could be true. When it comes to the BBC and Strictly money is a big factor.

In the past few seasons they’ve struggled with signings imo, Strictly isn’t the attractive show it once was and there’s lots of lucrative opportunities elsewhere which definitely pay more with a lot less stress and media trolling.

I don't particularly mind a smaller cast. What I object to with the shorter run is that they have so many different dances they can dodge a lot of the proper ballroom and Latin ones.
Yeah it seems over the past few years the show has been moving in the direction of dwts in the states. Less ballroom and more rolling around the floor.
