I'm getting a bit sick of all the pros shouting out who they think they want or deserve. There's not currently one pro I'd really miss after a couple of shows. Personally I like the pros like Gorka, Nadia, Alijaz and Dianne who just get on with whoever they get and seem to be genuinely happy to be on the show over the likes of Katya, Oti, Giovanni, Neil and Janette who seem to think the show needs them more than they need it. This is why we need a massive and brutal cull.

I know in the past they’ve had issues trying to sign itv celebs to participate because itv won’t let them take part in a bbc show. The only precedent I can think of was when Kevin was a judge on All Star Musicals (I think that's what is was called?) on ITV whilst he was still a pro, but that was a one-off rather than a series. Also, much lower profile than this. I suspect The Masked Dancer won't do as well as the Masked Singer, but still a big deal.

I like Oti, but i think she's done all she can on Strictly and it would feel very odd (and a bit unfair on the other pros) if she comes back

The only pro I've ever felt had that much of an ego was Kevin. Neil, Katya & Janette seem happy enough whoever they get.

Do agree though about the need for a cull and there are few pros I'd miss (Katya, Gorka, maybe Oti) but for different reasons, the show just badly needs fresh blood. Pretty much the same lineup since 2017 and the likes of Graziano and Luba who were 'added' to the lineup did not work out as pros.
 
Janette is another one who is getting gigs. Nothing as high profile as TMD but she seems to be on that Morning Live show several times a week so I doubt she's having to worry too much about bringing the bacon home. But there will be some who need Strictly this year.
 
I can see how, for a pro, it's great to be offered more jobs as they have a finite time to work in that role but TV and Radio in this country is so dominated by a relatively small number of names it would be great to see more people coming forward.
 
Can't lie though that Oti would be a big loss to the show as she is a strong choreographer and always gives her partnerships 100%. I feel that it leaves Katya as the only proper dynamite female pro. Dianne is reasonable but the others are either weak at choreo or not that likeable.

Aljaž & Katya would also be the only two past champs in the lineup.
 
I’ve said it before but I think everyone will stay for this series (this has already been implied by the press). They’ve got nothing else going on so why would you turn down your one guaranteed source of income for the year.

They are due a shake up of the pros especially the girls so hopefully a few of them decide they want to start families and move on after this series is over😂
 
TBH why do we need any of them when we’ve got queen oti, she could dance with all the celebs, then interview herself and then run round and judge herself. She could pre record all the music songs etc, do the lighting, costumes, filming. Then do the pro dance, just her. She’d be brilliant on it takes two, jumping from each sofa asking then answering the questions. The Oti Come Dancing Show...
 
Maybe Oti is judging SCD this year instead of being a pro?

Motsi is doing the German version's tour in the autumn. Some of the dates clash and somehow I don't think that the BBC/government would be allowing weekly commuting back and forth.

If that's the case it's a pretty big kick in the teeth for Anton. I used to rely like Oti but am starting to get a bit bored of seeing her everywhere. At the moment it feels like she hasn't got a strong enough identity or personality to be across so many tv shows. But hopefully they'll give some of the other dancers a bit more of a chance to shine. I got sick of seeing Oti and Janette lead most of the pro dances last year

Technically there is room for both - Oti for Motsi and Anton for Bruno.
 
I don't think Aljaž would automatically leave if Janette did - they still need the money (especially if kids came into the equation).

As for other women - Karen would be on her 10th series this year which makes me think her time is up soon. Only two pros have ever done more than 10 series and they were both originals (Anton & Brendan). She's never really made the top 3 (let's be real, Jamie was definitely 4th place votes wise) and there's not much to her choreo beyond the 'fun' routines (which is why her partnerships with Jamie & Chris were hits) so is quite lucky to still be there. Amy & Dianne probably have a few years left each but I don't think they will be there in 5 years time and definitely see either calling it a day if they got the win.

Can you imagine them as contestants? Never danced before... :LOL:

If DOI stays, I give it 2 years before one is on as a contestant. I'd say AJ, he seems more up for a challenge than Curtis who is pretty much exclusively trash TV.
