Do we know when the pros will officially be announced this year? I know it’s normally around the start of March. The sun did say that all the pros are staying but you never know with the sun.

If everyone is staying, maybe within the next few weeks. Only 2 who I could see leaving for whatever reason are Anton or Janette and even then, I think they'd have announced that by now (like Kevin & Pasha's respective exits being made public in mid-Feb).

There should be 2-3 new pros this year (probably all male) so they might be announced later than the returning lot. If there were a lot of changes (unlikely this year), I think they'd wait until May/June like they did before. There's been virtually no turnover in the last 2-3 years hence the early announcements.

I think if Anton left it would only be to replace Bruno so more relocating rather than leaving. He knows he’s got a v good gig on strictly.

Pretty much - by leaving, mostly meant leaving the main pro lineup. I think though that he surely can't have that long left. I can't think of any other show who has pros over 50 and it has gotten predictable as to which partner he gets. Thumbs up to him being a judge though.

Janette may stick around for the income but then that makes me question why they gave HRVY to her if it wasn't going to be her last year (plenty of others were more deserving of the chance). Still not convinced her return is a sure thing (maybe they thought an abbreviated series would be ideal for her to make a final).

Tbf I think Janette deserved a ringer regardless of if she was going to leave or not. I hope Karen gets one next!!

She'd already had Aston and couldn't even get him to Blackpool. Dianne, Katya, Nadiya all never had one and they'll all be 4-5 years in by next series. And she's never had an older celeb or likely duffer so I don't really think she deserved a good one and certainly not this year if she's back, she and Oti have to get the weak ones for a change.

I really hope they give Nadiya a partner this year and I would also love to see Luba with a ringer. I think her choreography could be really good if she has a decent partner. She has said before though how she is tall so finding her dance partners is difficult.

I'm skeptical about Luba, her choreo for Jason was dire and it's not like he had no natural talent. Themes didn't help but that AS & Paso had to be some of the worst routines I've ever seen. I don't think her work with more of a middler contestant showed that she'd do a good job with someone talented. And personality/dancing wise, little impression in either series (Dianne & Oti were both out early in their first years but I got some impression of them).

Nadiya is a great dancer, hopefully she gets a partner and someone who at least is engaging with the audience (Lee & David weren't). If they can't find a tall contender, how about Mark Labbett from The Chase? He wants to do it and would at least be fun so could stick around a while.

Think he's turned it down before but maybe he'll want the money and would be up for it now.

BBC are probably the ones against him doing it - he's not exactly the 'type' they cast.

In that case, since she has a steady income, can another dancer get a chance to be on the show? Given how the arts industry has been affected, it doesn't sit too right for me for her to get two major high profile gigs.
 
Will the bbc even allow her to continue as a pro now she’s judging a high profile dance show on a rival network ? I know in the past they’ve had issues trying to sign itv celebs to participate because itv won’t let them take part in a bbc show. She’s won twice,had several very good runs and had the first Para athlete is there much else she can realistically achieve ??

If there’s a female celeb that wants a female pro this year I bet Oti will push for her. It’s the only box she hasn’t ticked.

Oti shouldn't 'push' for anyone this year after two wins, I hope she's not a Kevin Clifton and does acknowledge her luck.

If we had another female same-sex pairing, I'd maybe give Karen the honours as I know she really wanted the chance to do it last year.
