I think they are in the Honeymoon period with this house. It’s old, needs lots of work and will cost a bomb to run. Great if they had the time to put in doing it but as they are so busy here, there and everywhere I think it will be a nightmare for them. Unless of course they get a professional in to do it all. I’ve lived in a biggish house (not that big though!) and the upkeep is horrendous. At the very least they will need a cleaner and a gardener. Hope they haven’t got swept away with the romance of a big house in the country.
I really do agree - old houses like that have idyllic grounds and are wonderful BUT they are also freezing. I looked at the conservatory (playroom) and felt cold just looking at it for when the sun isn't on it. They'll probably end up building the a new house in the grounds if they can't renovate to a modern standard.

I think she's made a huge mistake moving there. Think that house needs a lot of professional work and she seems more suited to something that doesn't need much work where she can piss about crafting stuff made out of rubbish. Completely out of her depth.
I don’t, I think its a clever move. Living in the previous house -£1.2million for that, that’s a joke, in my opinion that’s false economy 😆
This new house was obviously owned by an older person and needs maintenance and bringing up to date, she’s not stupid, may act it but I don’t think she is, she’ll get the professionals in.
I suspect she’s living mortgage free, has a good income, probably invested her money and the interest alone could pay running costs.
She says it’s a forever home, we’ll see, the location wouldnt be for me. Even if it isn’t I’m sure she’ll add value

I don’t think they this new house is a listed building
i agree. I don’t think it’s listed. theres too many modern additions to it.

House looks quite stuffy, even the bits she's shown herself without furniture.
Bedroom looks very small, not much room around it.
I'm surprised how she's fallen for it. It'll be a money pit to get it to any reasonable modern standard.
How far is it from the industrial estate and busy road?

It's got a 21ft master bedroom, so she's not showing it off very well :ROFLMAO:

I suspect as someone has said this house isn’t mortgaged she will of paid for it cash especially with how fast it moved since the Facebook post showing it reduced in feb. That house will take a lot of work and upkeep but mortgage free, not even having to sell the previous house I don’t really see it being her stretch for her if I am honest - not the kind of house I would want to put money in but I can appreciate how stunning it is if it’s your cup of tea.
Did anyone hear her radio interview last night, she mentioned websites and groups dedicated to their dislike of her

There isn't any central heating, it says on the details some rooms have electric heaters, I dread to think what it'll cost her to have that put in

Out of interest why do people think it’s listed?
It’s not on the British Listings Site.
Historically it’s a cottage for a nearby property - the nearby property is on as listed.

I think its a really interesting house. Not everyone wants to live in a box and these kind of properties have huge appeal

There are always ways to improve the heating and energy efficiency even in houses of this age. She has the money so its hardly going to cause her a second thought.

I love the info about the marble in the being from a local cathedral etc. That house has some very interesting fixtures and fittings.

I couldn't cope with the outdoor pool and children so I would probably fill that in or if I really wanted a pool, get a covered one in the grounds, with built in changing facilities and shower
