We all knew this was terror related. Atrociously handled by the police. Any little trust we had in the police is very quickly eroded when they gaslight and lie in this way. Disgraceful .

We don’t actually know with certainty. But you don’t download the al-Qaeda manual and the recipe for ricin for a school project.

This is going to be VERY interesting trial.

I'd put good money on the fact the Southport attacker wasn't part of an ~ISIS cell

You still up for that?

They’re not treating the Southport attack as terrorism but it seems he’s a terrorist?? Make it make sense 👀 looks like they’re playing it down , I’d doubt he was using ricin to flavour his Cornflakes 🙄 sad to say but the death of those girls probably saved many other lives.

I think the phrase is “technical truth”. Politicians love those. A bit like the £300 off your energy bill, in 10 years, not immediately. Cos we never ACTUALLY said immediately and if you thought that, well….our bad we should have been clearer.

In this case, OK he seemed interested in terrorism and was in possession of said materials (allegedly) but he never killed those poor little girls because of his ideology, he did that because he was a ****, so they weren’t, technically, terrorist murders despite his alleged beliefs.

Could be that the distinction is the attack itself wasn’t related to a terrorist motive - he just wanted to attack little girls because he’s a disgusting human rather than for some religious or political reasoning?
There’s also that CPS have to present the case most likely to win in court? If they charge someone with terrorism and the evidence is flaky they could get off (on appeal)?
