Southport Attacks and Aftermath #5

Definitely a possibility as I think I read he's autistic. More likely just told to stay quiet though. Or nerves?

Families are immensely brave to go to court and face him. I think people forget that some of the surviving children still have so much trauma and some physical injuries to recover from - one girl will be on life long medication as she lost her spleen in the attack (but at least still has her life)
Which is going to be extra hard on the families now that he’s pleading not guilty, those kids / adults could be called to give evidence and have relive the horror all over again 🤢

Are the restrictions on reporting in place as other children/siblings would be mentioned ?

I remember a case of a 13 year old being the youngest person charged with terrorism charges, but he was pretending to be a lot older online. The founder of the organisation was an even younger boy in Europe and the 13 year old in Cornwall did not really ascribe to the views he claimed to online.

So, it will be interesting to see what direction this takes.

We don’t know it was a brief hearing? This has gone beyond views we can’t forget what has taken place including making a biological weapon .

So all these young boys, who are of a similar age, within years of each other are carrying out similar terrorism related activities...being online, how to make ricin?
Was it Covid?
Was it ASD medication?
Was it viewing a certain television show/MSM offering...?
Surely they didn't all listen to an episode of The Archers and decide to do this!

Is this a more serious concern and we are not aware of the severity and now it can not be covered up any longer?

I am not trying to be a tin foil hat-maybe it's me seeing pattern.

I just took it as the pure arrogance of him.

I read that he is autistic, be interesting to see if he has also been diagnosed/presents with ADHD/PDA traits. If he was taking medication for this.

Selective mutism along with not being able to regulate facial expressions maybe why he covers his face. It's like when you are a child and laugh when being told off and we hear it's 'nervous laughter'
This may be the only way to stop sketches of him 'laughing during proceedings' ??

There was also this one! Difference is they weren’t facing multiple murder/ attempted murder charges alongside plus the fact he was an actor/ performer so can regulate himself when he chooses. If he is on the spectrum it must be the lower end? He attended mainstream education no mention of any additional resources being needed? He also went on to further education and seemed to be doing well in performing arts ? We’ll need to wait for the trial to find out more about his backround and needs but if he’s able to cope in a prison setting it tells me they’re not too restrictive.

The BBC article says the below

Mr Justice Goose said Mr Rudakubana was "mute of malice" - a legal term for a defendant who wilfully refuses to speak.

Why would we assume that neurodiversity is behind it and not the fact that he is a disgusting person? ND wouldn’t make it wilful, he’d have a reason behind it that surely his defence would present and use to benefit his case.

Yes, we will not know fully until further details are known.
It just made me think why all these younger children were getting charged with terrorism charges around the same time.
As you say with Axel, the difference is murder- but he was 'accessing' the manual etc a lot earlier (2021) so the terrorism part started much earlier, as with the other children.
With Autism plus PDA traits, there is also masking, feeling more comfortable in playing a fantasy role etc.
The interactions with the taxi driver and his former Karate teacher just make me think of 'defiance' .

Yes, as in the Brianna Ghey trial with the ASD presentation of the murderers, they were allowed 'accommodations' due to ND.

I am thinking of masking and not wanting to be seen as 'the other' - if it is a comorbidity seen often with Autism, PDA for example...may not have an 'official diagnosis' so, we may be seeing the tip of the iceberg.

Yes, Mutism of Malice, as the judge has stated. I am just thinking how autism and related traits present in many ways to different degrees on different days...the trial will tell.
