I find this whole new generation of "podcasters" just bizarre. It's basically a load of reality stars with zero experience or talent in broadcasting trying to monetize off having casual chats with their partners and mates, while offering zero value to listeners. A load of mindless rot neatly packaged in pretty branding and elaborate PR launches. It's really sad when you think about it, because there are probably loads of really decent and talented people out there making really great podcasts but not getting any exposure whatsoever. Meanwhile, you've got the likes of Sophie and Jamie etc wise-cracking about dildos and fingering and calling it a podcast.

The above said, I will give credit to Joel and his mum's podcast. It might not be everyone's cup of tea, but at least there's some semblance of a structure to it, plus some intelligent discussion and two very engaging personalities behind the mic.

Totally agree. I think it must only be truly for the die hard fans (all 5 of them)
 
Has anyone seen this clip? It's all a bit awkward and bizarre. Jamie starts by announcing Sophie has been called to court, to which she says "are they taking my little car?", and he replies "they're going to take everything"...to which she says "not the crystals".

She then asks why she's been called to court and gets p*ssed off, saying he's "damaging her credibility by announcing that on the podcast". He responds that she forgot to pay a bill and will have to attend court unless she pays up. She asks what bill etc etc, before rambling for a bit and then saying she hates doing life admin.

Seriously, what the f*ck did I just watch? 30 seconds of my life I'm never getting back. Sophie needs to lay easy on the fillers. She looks like she's in pain.

Does he open her post or something? How does he know she has to go to court for non payment of a bill and she doesn’t?!
 
The body language here...Could she look more sexually repulsed by her own husband?!

What on earth has he done to her face? She's heading Essex with it...

I still reckon Jamie knows more about it because bailiffs might have turned up while she was away. If she owes a lot then her car could be taken on the spot to pay it off but maybe because she was away they couldn’t and now it’s gone to court. I’m sure Jamie will just pay it for her and it’ll all go away 😂

Does anyone else find the practice of taking your shoes off and semi-lying down on your sofa (and encouraging your guests to do the same) slightly strange etiquette from a podcast presenter? 🥴
