My daughter and I join slimming world as something to keep us on track for summer holidays, we get to spend time together, we have a laugh and set our targets. Covid-19 has changed all that, I hated the zoom meetings as I use that for my work appointments and it’s not the same as having a group.

I like many in our group like it when other members lose weight and share their stories in group. We don’t like when the group leader shares the stories of their inspirational slimming world members who have lost 10 stone but gained 20 stone in ego for example: Big Ben to Small Ben. The consultant discussed him for about 3 weeks and virtually ever member asked the consultant not to mention Ben anymore because we saw his Instagram page, he was egotistic and narcissistic. The men in the group felt exactly the same, a man who sponges off his wife, spends her money on dressing up like James Bond to feed his ego is not inspirational at all. Yet slimming world continued to publish him in magazines and he won man of the year which was undeserved. Everyone grew very tired of seeing him
 
I could have written this! I didn't realise it at the time but finding all these accounts that had cheat days and big portions and tweeks stopped my weight loss. Finding tattle has made me realise that

Glad that people are realising this! Honestly, it annoys me so much that these 'influencers' make all these fake claims. They are a bad influence really! Stick to your own way with SW and you will be successful. It's easy for the Insta lot to give advice when they have got to their 10 stone target in other ways but need to keep up the pretence for all the freebies.

When I found them all and their sky high plates of pasta and potatoes I was honestly like why have I been wasting my time spiralising courgettes and making broccoli rice when this lot are maintaining 3 stone losses on quorn nuggets and smiley faces 😂 soon realised it’s all a load of tit. Tonight I am doing grilled courgettes layered with some left over syn free arrabiata sauce I made on Saturday topped with mozzarella and having that with baked sea bass fillet 😊

Seriously this is the food I like to see on instagram not a bleeping freddo swimming in a bowl of porridge and chemicals skinny sauces

Your dinner sounds amazing! I love sea bass! Give me that any day over nasty quorn nuggets!!
 
I followed sw for years, lost a lot of weight and then yo-yoed
It really messes with your head and eating imo.
I can't eat savoury rice, cous cous, beans or Muller lights these days 🤢
I also now enjoy fish and chips at the beach with my kids instead of eating a salad.
Gradually unfollowing sw accounts as they appear in my feed from over the years.

Pleased others find the accounts as annoying as me, couldn’t thyof anything worse than biscoff porridge with a Malteser bunny for breakfast, can just about stomach a slice of toast.

I have about a 8lb to lose but just can’t do slimming world, as a veggie who doesn’t like meat substitutes I just got bored very quickly and 1 hex b is not enough. I get on much better with calorie counting and have lost about 7lb.

I’m pescatarian and not a massive fan of meat substitutes either, I eat a lot of lentils and beans (not of the baked in tomato sauce variety 😂)

Love this thread. I've started CC and recently started an Insta account to keep me accountable. If I see one more plate of mini eggs and Biscoff for breakfast I'm going to scream 🤣 🤣

Good luck, I’m waiting for the right time to start again and might go down the CC route.
