I know, it’s so sad people will believe it, they will do literally anything to avoid eating wholesome food that will actually make you lose weight. The foods you will have the most successful are the ones that have no advertising or branding whatsoever eg fruit and veg, meat and fish, whole grains. Always half a plate of speed and not as an afterthought, I always put it on my plate first then do the carbs/protein. On the rare occasion there is speed food in sight it’s always a side salad as an extra in the background (swear it’s fake display food they just get out for the photos 😂) or ‘I’ll have an apple for speed later’ which defeats the objective 🤦‍♀️

Or the giant fry-ups that are falling off the side of the plate and just have half a tomato as the 'speed'. Then they get so touchy about it and point out that the books say that you only need 1/3 speed if it's relevant for the meal. That isn't what that caveat means.

It's more people who are at a near target weight and suddenly lose a huge amount in a week to hit the target. In the first week the initial loss will always be higher. 😊
Haha I did that
I did a SP week when I was 5lbs away from target and I got it 😊😊😊

Anyone’s thoughts on erika_slimmingworld ?

Talking about people at target, SW Gem has kept it off but she does seem to eat proper meals which arent beige monstrosities and she does a lot of activity 🌱🌿

Mummy and Daddy Wright used to have some horrific meals. More so the husband, I remember 4 and 5 eggs at a time as well as loads of other things on the plate. Such disordered eating, I dont know many people who are not doing SW that would eat 5 fried eggs in 1 sitting.

I got to target with SW twice (lost 5 stone the first time and 3 stone the second) but its not sustainable for me long term. Hence why Ive gained some back.

Having to choose between oats or whole meal bread or having to 'syn' one. The principal is ok but hedging your whole week on that one step on the scales was mentally soul destroying for me. It got to the point where I'd only eat carbs for the 3 days following weigh in then the 3 days prior Id not eat any. Id stop drinking at 2pm for 5.30 weigh in. It was a horrible binge/purge cycle. I also did weigh my rice/pasta to a portion and would not be able to mention it at group or Id get jumped on.

Im losing weight slowly now and have had to work really hard on the mental side of my eating to recover from SW.

I think seeing people on Insta drawing a line and all the off plan / on plan just made me think it was fine to be doing all of that.

I no longer do SW but I’ve heard a rumour it’s about to change and it could be going down the calorie counting route.
I think you are right. I am in a group and have just been told we are part of a pilot for a new 6 week programme based on psychology of slimming. I think it’s to keep up with the likes of Noom and I for one am really looking forward to trying it. I rate SlimmingWorld as a company and their ethos and admire them for constantly evolving and keeping up with the times. I do think they ignored low carb but this may turn out in their favour - time will tell.
