She got caught out lying this week about being a chess champion. I guess she thought it was obscure enough to lie about and didn't think there would be records to catch her out

That's because they investigated the wrong competition lol. She didn't win the mixed sexes 1993 British Under 14s tournament, she She won the under-14's Girls tournament organised by the now defunct Women's Chess Association.

What a crappy news source.

Source?

Here:

Guido Fawkes is such a terrible news source. I'd get better political insight looking into the contents of my toilet bowl this morning.

I think Rachel Reeves's plagiarism in her book last year is more damning than whether or not she won a chess tournament when she was a child. In particular, her consistent failure to acknowledge female economists in a book about uncelebrated female economists, is unfortunate, to say the least.
She's a mess on several fronts. Really does think she's something special and worth celebrating just for getting the job.

Maybe work a bit harder Rachel to get some results before basking yourself in glory.

I expected this sleazy bunch of chancers to be found out but not this quickly.

Yeah, you're right. A bunch of low level paper-shufflers with moderate intelligence levels but with massive egoes and a desire for power. Honestly, the state of them. Just take a moment to look at them all. duck sake. I hate the Tories for letting this bunch of no marks into office. Gutted. The more I see of this lot the more respect I have for Jeremy Corbyn telling them to go 'do one'. I kind of see his point of view now and it pains me to say that. Once the Unions flex their muscles 'working people' (who aren't in Unions) and old people who have worked their whole life and have saved money will be royally shafted. Heaven bleeping forbid you have been scrimping and saving to send your kid to a good private school so that they can perhaps have a better life than you. No, duck that tit ... Bridget ain't gonna like that. Vile woman.

Not sure if I classify as a "high net worth individual" but seeing Labour come in and knowing they'd a be a huge disappointment I left the UK for good earlier in the year.
I was paying a 6 figure tax amount each year to HMRC and now I live in Malta and pay a flat rate of 5000 Euro a year in tax.
It's not by any means perfect here, very busy roads, infrastructure can't cope with the number of people and foreigners are not that popular with some locals. But I have a top floor flat with lovely view, great quality fresh food (all imported from Italy) and have time for all my work and hobbies.
I've got the visa to live here and shouldn't have problems renewing it, if I did stay for several years I could get Malta and so EU citizenship.
The UK wasn't worth it for me any more with paying that rate of tax and the ladder has been pulled up for most things.
In the UK I was paying 25% corporation tax and on top of that a dividend tax of in the 30's%, with the only relief adding to my pension. So over 50% tax and I got very little back.
Now just in the tax I'm saving it covers my living, fun and rent costs. I'm managing to save a lot more and look at retiring early.
I wonder how many people have left the UK? Most people there take out more than they pay in to the system and the 10% at the top make most of the contributions to tax. So what happens if a couple of % of the top 10% leave? Seems the UK has big problems ahead that Labour won't address.

Were you able to move to Malta because you're relatively high net worth or is it quite easy to do for anyone.

You have to prove your net worth (500k+ Euros) and make investments in Malta so you need a quite high net worth to do it.
I know people who are self employed online workers and Malta was too expensive, so instead they've left the UK to become tax residents of nowhere and are living in South East Asia.
Only really possible if you don't have commitments and work that you are free to do anywhere. But more are realising UK tax isn't working for them and they will never get to retire so trying to make life more fun. I think lots of net tax contributors are leaving or left and Labour will have a big tax blackhole.
