I am poorly, and a family member gave a gift card to me, so I cracked and bought the Create a Furry Werewolf Game Pack.

I strongly suspect someone possessed of a modicum of brains and social media savvy at EA/Maxis must have read the riot act to after the My Wedding Stories and Star Wars fiascos, because this thing is a thousand times better than those buggy messes.

It's not perfect: the wolf-form in Create-a-Sim is deeply irritating and wouldn't stop flailing and howling whilst I was trying to add cool scars, and the PERPETUAL RAGE thing is a little tiresome (I think you can overcome that as you progress up the skill tree with perk points, etc). I've not had their weird bug where your wolf form turns invisible, but then, I don't have any custom content or mods...

But there's a ton of game play and new interactions and world-building, it meshes really nicely with the vampire pack (and probably spellcasters too, but I don't own that). And the new world included with the pack plays like a dream: it almost feels like a Sims 3 open world with how far you can roam around, well done to the designers, credit where credit is due.

If you like occult sims and/or grungy '90s outfits and industrial building stuff, this would be a fun pack to own. It really does feel like the team at EA/Maxis actually enjoyed making this one, and took some pains to get it right. Or maybe they just got a better budget and timescales from their EA masters for once, who knows. It's decent anyway!
The invisible wolf form wasn't bc of mods. It was a game bug they patched in a SDX prior to the game launch, that's why you don't see it. They actually got a fix out fast for that, unlike the wedding pack.... Which... Is... Still broken....

This probably sounds weird but I am more than okay with youtubers and streamers earning a lot of money if they put the work in and if people are paying subs or bits they get what they are paying for. The idea that someone can be given a fairly large amount of money to simply not create videos or stream regularly is a slap in the face to people who are paying to subscribe or even just watch their old videos. I don't think people should feel obliged to make videos all the time or stream every day as regular scheduled days off are important but there should be some consistency.
I feel that way too. I don’t care that they make a lot of money because I’m sure recording, editing, and uploading takes longer that people realize. BUT I do have a problem with it when they make a lot of money and barely put out any content in think that’s my struggle with accepting the fact Vixella makes thousands of dollars ever month of just twitch alone yet she hardly streams, cancels all the time (at least once a week), and will be hours late if she doesn’t cancel and won’t giver viewers a heads up. If someone wanted to make it as a streamer and followed her habits they would NEVER make it. People would never subscribe or watch their streams.

Can I turn off occults? I like the items and clothing but I don't like a vampire turning up at my house every night trying to suck my sims neck!!! I would get werewolves for the items etc but won't play them

There is an option in the menu system to "Limit Werewolves to Moonwood Mill", which means you'll never get the sims roaming about your other worlds in Wolf form. You might see them in community lots as humans walking around, but never as raging wolves.

It's a sensible addition, and it would be great if they could update the Vampires pack to have something similar.

Talking of Clare how much does she get paid for squealing oh my god Taz it's taz in the chat everyone look its taz go follow taz. Every single time tazkabaz or whatever her name is shows up.

I’m glad I am not the only one who found this weird. I always thought career wise it was a bit odd for Claire to collaborate with Taz when they’re so different ends of the follower scale. In a way it made me like Claire more as she obviously wants to support her friend.

Saying that though how have they become such good friends so quickly? I think there’s an eight year age gap between them. Claire never interacts with any other simmer really (deligracy back in the day, some mentions of James and a few Twitter messages to Steph0Sims). I get the feeling she must be quite lonely.

I do feel a bit for Claire tbh. I think she’s a genuinely good and consistent YouTuber and I used to love the NSB challenge. I think she’d be a good variety youtuber but every time she tries she gets shot down.

I personally just wish she had a second channel or something where she did more older stuff for an adult audience. I was part of her discord until she had to choose Coral over Blossom in the NSB, which she was basically bullied into by her tween fans. Her fandom is so boring and toxic and young. She plays to them very well but ultimately she’s having to always moderate herself. (Woowoo!)

I've heard people say that clare only has her success because she is with Ali A as if there is such a big crossover in the Sims and erm I want to say fortnite and pokemon go community. I think she is successful because she is consistent and treats youtube and streaming like a job. Unfortunately it does mean that she can be a little over excitable and she definitely plays for a younger crowd and you can tell she'd rather play more mature themes. Also the other big sims tubers seem to ignore her I think maybe because she is popular

It's really interesting to look at top creator's Social Blades and see trends coming from a mile away. Recently looked at Lilsimsie's Social Blade and yes, I know she makes $50,000 to $60,000 a month from Youtube BUT she's starting to flatline, just like all the other Sims creators. She's making about the same views as she was a year ago, so question; she added almost 400,000 subscribers in the last year, where is the bump in viewership? 400k new eyeballs should mean some % growth but viewership actually went down during parts of the last year. Peak times in July and December saw declines/low viewership too, when her kid audience would be home on break. Her channel is far from dying but there are definite warning signs of channel stagnation.

Do you think this is a sign of The Sims 4 popularity waning or do you think the popularity of some creators is waning? Honestly, when creators outside The Sims 4 bubble can get millions of views on their Sims 4 videos and I can't remember the last time someone in the Sims community cracked a million views on a video in a month, I'd say it is definitely the creators.

Lilsimsies photo of Dan today.

I've never noticed it so much before but 👀👀 they could so easily be mistaken as brother and sister

I don’t worry about lilsimsie one bit financially. If you look at TwitchTracker it tracks streamers stats. From the numbers it looks pretty accurate (avg viewers, hours streamed, etc) and it says she has currently over 7,500 subs. Most subs are $5, but some are $10, $25. To be conservative, if you assume all her subs are only $5, and then take away twitch’s cut (50%). She still makes almost $18k a month on just twitch subscriptions. That doesn’t even include the bits or ad revenue she receives, and that’s only assuming she ONLY receives the $5 subs, not the higher amounts (which she does). Her views and subscriptions have only been going up as well on Twitch. I remember when she would have an average of 800 viewers in a stream. Now she easily will have 4-5k viewers.

I probably subbed in the last year and haven't watched a video for quite a while. At this point, that's the case for pretty much all of the SimsTubers, and I do think it's partly because the game itself is so flat and past its sell by date. They have done everything, and increasingly the content being put out by EA is so half-assed (MWS) it makes it even more difficult to do a good Let's Play, which is probably why so many seem to focus on building.

I'm not trying to stand here and say we should all feel sorry for these people, but I would point the finger more at The Sims overall for the current situation with engagement. I wonder if there are any sales figures that would illustrate a downward trend?

Deligracy posted an update on Instagram about going off her anxiety meds and I don't understand when she says that she has been feeling "hyper" for years (more excited than relaxed) because of the anxiety and that now that she's off her meds she's calmer and not anxious as much... But aren't anxiety meds supposed to make you more relaxed and less anxious ?? I don't understand

I was thinking the same thing... She worded it so strangely. In her videos from 4-5 years ago, I find her to be a normal person, not hyper. That's kind of why I watched her. I don't need a youtuber to be hyper, I just want to watch someone who's consistent and enthusiastic about creating new content. There's a difference.

Anxiety meds usually help calm you down in my case they stop my heart racing and the overwhelming feeling of panic if you are feeling hyper on anxiety mess you either need to get other meds because the ones you're on are not working or you need a dictionary because your definition of hyper or anxious may be wrong. It could be that Deli is confusing normal feelings of stress with anxiety like it's normal to feel anxious or stressed about deadlines it's not normal to have a panic attack if someone knocks on the door. Maybe she doesn't feel hyper or stressed because she avoids doing anything that could induce stress.
