Not turning up is bad, very bad for Simon.
I mean it’s wild he agreed to the interview in the first place - he obviously thought he could talk his way around the issues raised. But to be a no-show… yikes. The knives will only sharpen now.

agree. i'd be interested to know how this compares to like Public Health England or UK Health Security Agency. I wonder how much they paid during the same period for marketing. the difference being they were creating actual public health advice. For the same amount to be spent in the public sector on ONE GUY to run some FB groups alone is gob-smacking.

It’s a colossal amount for even full service marketing for one year, let alone just social media community management for public sector. Most agencies also take a cut when working with public sector because they want their logos on their pitch slides for validity.
From my experience working in marketing/advertising/PR, £500k in the private sector will often give global companies a team of around 5-6 from an agency, who perform 'full-function' activities of social media, press office, thought leadership and event management for a year.

Sorry if you both already know this (but just in case, to keep our facts straight!) - it wasn't 500k p.a., these are the amounts that went out each financial year

It's still a colossal amount for one person, particularly during the pandemic, and you'd definitely get a team of three or maybe even four out of it
Sorry if I am being thick.
How can you earn that during COVID but be eligible also for a loan as COVID has effected you? If anything tye effect for him was amazing.
The pandemic was his jackpot
He will be crying MH issues and #bekindHow could he be so stupid as to agree to a radio appearance yesterday and then no show it this morning? He must realise how bad the optics are there. I reckon his instinct for attention seeking and exposure kicked in (as he's been nearly a week off social media now) and that's why he said yes. It was only later that he had serious second thoughts or someone talked him out of it.
