The big and Samantha affair thing could have weirdly worked....in the first episode it’s Samantha that cracks on to Big and is saying how hot he is. I also want Big to have had a child that he didn’t tell Carrie about.
Or Carries dad to turn up, she said he walked out on her and her mother when she was 4 so that could be an interesting storyline.

I hated that Steve cheated too. I was disgusted tbh especially as it was twisted into Miranda's fault he cheated! And she took him back! I didn't think it was realistic, he absolutely adored Miranda, just a clichéd way to give Miranda a storyline.

I thought it was realistic that Steve cheated.
Miranda was busy, bossy and they didn't have sex anymore. He managed a bar so it was probably just a momentary discretion fuelled by sexual drive and desire.
I think this can happen even if there is a lot of love in the relationship.

He admitted it straight away and wanted to make amends. She was understandably very hurt.

I think it was great how it played out: the hurt, the therapy (Steve said he felt hurt that the other vows were suddenly not that important), the decision to be together.
I felt it was realistic

I think the secret child could be an interesting story line.
Or another illness?
Or Big's second wife coming back onto the scene?
Another indiscretion between Carrie and Aidan?
Charlotte having an affair? Or becoming depressed?
Mental health could be a current topic they might want to spin.

I imagine it is after the monstrosity that was the second film, if I was either of them I would be concerned the new series would be similar

The actress that played Samantha spoke about it. She said that she declined as she had been treated so poorly by SJP and also the other actresses.
She had also called SJP out publicly for being a hypocrite. There seems to be a big feud.

Big isn't in the new series? Then what's the point? He was half the reason the series existed - Carrie's obsession with him carried the series forward.

oh yeah I knew about Samantha, I meant this was probably the reason for Big and Steve. Totally agree, without Big and Samantha the series is missing such major characters, what will they say? just that both Miranda and Carrie are divorced? I also don't see how it will make sense that Steve is NEVER in the show when they have a child together
 
I loved this show , really loved it. Have visited New York many times and even went on the SATC tour and took a pic by carries stoop. But...IMO some things are better left when they go out on a high, I don’t think they will be able to recreate the magic. It would be such a shame if the lasting memories weren’t good ones.

When I went to NYC I went to the library and had my photo took on spot where Big jilted her in the 1st film 😆 I was fan girling hard!

Maybe Charlottes storyline is about her daughters? I know sometimes it can be quite complex with international adoption as the child grows up - particularly when you have a subsequent biological child....and they were both girls right?

The tour is brill isn't it! The lady who led our one was hilarious, such a fun day.
