SATC followed the lives of 4 women. Anthony and Stanford were supporting characters and we didn't see them unless they were with a main character - usually Carrie and Charlotte.

This series had us following the lives of Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda, Che, Nya, LWT, Seema, & Anthony. I may have even forgotten someone there. That's 8 characters!! 8 characters with different stories that rarely intertwine. How are we supposed to follow all of them, especially when they don't have time to develop any storyline properly.

That's not even taking into account the secondary characters - Charlotte's annoying children, Aidan and his home life, Brady, Steve's new bar, Carrie's jewelry designing neighbour, LWT's husband running for something (?).

It's too much. We have no connection to those characters because they are not developed. 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯

I just watched an old episode, where Charlotte and Samantha fall out (where Trey can’t get it up and Charlotte gets fed up/jealous of Sam talking about sex all the time) and Kirsten Davis’ acting in it is just fantastic, she’s raw and emotional and the scene at the end with Trey is so gutsy, really shows how strong Charlotte is deep down. This older Charlotte is like a cringey comedy sketch in comparison to how multi-dimensional the old Charlotte used to be.

Carrie is a twit.

She has no idea what normal behaviour is - just cos she stalked Natasha and Big's wife and made herself the centre of everything means she can't understand why Miranda isn't up for being there and causing a scene and making it all about her. She's such a needy twit

All the allowances others have had to make for her crappy behaviour and she can't leave a club for her friend of 30 years or sack off her podcast friend to save someone's feelings?!?

*reminds myself it's not real* 😂

Is Miranda going to end up with the one from Doll and Em I wonder?

You just know that whilst Aiden was crying over his son all Carrie was concerned about is her supper 🙄
Who the duck goes out buying bed linen when your de facto step child is in the hospital and the man you love is in distress.

It had so much of the old Carrie who only gave a tit about herself. They’ve been pushing the son so much it’s obvious the relationship will end over his kids and her selfishness

Was that British woman in todays episode “Mimi” from Jules and Mimi?? Sorry if this has already been discussed I’m quite new to this thread
This woman? I don’t think she was Mimi

If it makes you feel any better, I'm a lesbian (the old-fashioned kind with no penis 😜) and I'm utterly exhausted by it all too. I had to stop watching AJLT halfway through the first season because it was so cringy and desperate that I just couldn't cope! But I still follow the threads for the snark. 😊
I have got absolutely no problem with gay or lesbian characters in SATC or AJLT. It's just been really jarring that the male characters (Stanford/Anthony/the poet) are allowed to just be gay men. It seems all the female characters who haven't been straight in AJLT have had to be queer/pan/bi/nb/trans- rather than just bog standard (no offence!) lesbian women who just like other women! I think the only genuine representation of a lesbian was Maria, when Samantha got together with her for a while

I feel like Harry and Charlotte still being together could have been something nice to explore. Making long term relationships last takes work - as privileged as everyone is in this universe. Instead, the series just turned them into clowns.

Much as I loved Harry from the off, I agree, they've turned him into a bit of a wet wipe. He was never the typical 'Alpha Male' but his personality made him one of the best, funniest (and by extension in my eyes!) sexiest men in the series. I'll probably be alone on this but I would definitely have joined Harry in (naked) cocktail hour 🤣🤣

Bloody Nora, they have all annoyed the tit out of me for 2 series but I got all the feels watching this Ep.
Carrie having to actually give a tit about a child, Aidan crying, LTW , Stanny (although that is ridiculous)
I could have cheered for Nya buying that pram and a did cheer for Charlotte because I get it. I would love to go back to a career but not yet…
After all these years still these women speak to me, despite me never living a life like theirs. I just wish AJLT had stuck to it SATC roots so much more. 😢

Adore Harry. Him and Charlotte in season 6 were just gorgeous. Also fine example of you may have all the classic good looks in the world but if your personality is lacking, bye bye (and vice versa)

The scene in the comedy club is bullshit. Firstly duck you Carrie for not following Miranda out. Although it's exactly what we expect from Carrie - she puts men before her friends.

The club was not very busy and where they were sitting at the back was higher than the rest of the club and well lit. I can't imagine how Che did not see Miranda and Carrie.

This show is very half-assed.
