I can’t believe 16 people have liked this, not real fans 😂 Stanford and Anthony were never together in the series, they hated each other. We never saw them even going out but they randomly got married in the second MOVIE. Your point still stands though as the movie was even more recent! 🍑

The did have a snog on New Year in movie 1 whilst that AWFUL rendition of Auld Lang Syne was playing so I alway assumed it was inferred they got together then. Maybe just me

Remember the episode where the married friends wanted her single stories. That was Carrie for most friends, funny anecdotes and some fendi baguette bags.
I think a lot of perpetually single women kind of make that their thing though- the SATC generation spearheaded it. Everyone has that friend who goes on loads of dates and has a messy time with guys etc and has the best stories. But are they happy deep down? I feel like the married friends egg it on as a way of feeling smug about their settled life when it’s quite boring and the single friend makes it sound fun and interesting when deep down they want something more settled. You need a bit of both in your life mostly and that’s the lie the SATC generation were sold. Samantha is goals for me, but we see very few genuine Samanthas?

If we’re going to get technical, they kissed in the first movie on New Years Eve 🤣🤣🤣 so movie two when they got married was obviously a continuation of a relationship which started from movie 1 🤣🤣

I don’t understand why they didn’t let Stanford die, this ‘Last Supper’ could then be a fitting tribute to him where the originals had a dinner in his memory. Samantha could then turn up at the door at the very end (rest of the cast don’t need to be there for that, you could cheat the angles and use stand-ins) and then you could have the voice over, ‘And just like that we talked about the years gone by, and those we loved and lost blah blah blah.’ Camera pans out the window to New York, fade to black, the series ends, and it never, ever, ever comes back, ever again.

SC and Arrested are two of the best recent comedies - if you like AD listen to the podcast Smartless. It's just Will Arnett & Jason Bateman being GOB and Michael in real life (with Sean Hayes too)

You've inspired me to watch AD again after I've rewatched Succession for the 8 millionth time 😂

Have you seen Smartless On the Road TV Series? Just brilliant!

Hoping Samantha’s scene is Kim Cattrall going all out Scouse screeching “Eeeeeeeeee Carrieeeee yer absolute Ming, yer don’t even like that Aidan laaaadd, he made you dead itchy like. Fuckin give yer head a fuckin wobble yer meff”

Cut to Carrie’s voiceover, “And just like that, Samantha reminded us why she is the true Queen”.

This thread is full of excellent suggestions for storylines, far better than anything the actual writer came up with. This one is the best though, absolute chef’s kids ending this is. 👏🏻

Here’s another idea, gas explosion during the last supper killing them all. Samantha seen walking away with a book of matches.

Or maybe just cutting to this and Samantha wisecracking about the lengths they both had to go to to get free of Carrie.

Miranda was soo right to call Carrie out for moving to Paris on what is essentially a whim for Alex.

This is a controversial opinion I’ve held since watching the series the first time over 10 years ago, but I liked Alex and liked the idea of her moving to Paris. It always felt her friends and viewers didn’t like him simply because he didn’t understand some of the jokes or cultural differences between Carrie and her friends. She was always a sap for Big when he would drop her anytime he had a funny feeling.
