Especially since mat leave in the US is an absolute joke and people are out there campaigning to get more than 4 weeks. Of course it's a woman's choice when to go back but it seemed callous to portray two women who desperately wanted to go back to work when it's such a hot political issue.

I didn't think of that - I just thought it was one mother telling another not to feel guilty for coming back to work early. I did notice that in the rushed subplot about Lisa's badly-timed pregnancy, they made sure she said "and I am so grateful to have that choice" when saying she didn't want an abortion. As if that will make women with crisis pregnancies in states with no abortion feel better.

This week has confirmed once and for all, all the new characters need to be culled.

All except Che. I know, controversial, but they are the only one bringing decent storylines. However, the storyline we enjoy is the one interlocked with Miranda. Not a new relationship with someone else aka Toby. Che is a side character. Nothing more and not deserving of main character energy.

The others - what’sit, thingamajig, whatshername and charlotte’s brood - they don’t even deserve a mention. Yawn fest.

Agree with the post a few pages ago , that this series is going to end with how New York is Carrie’s one true love.

I hope they do have another series though, it’s my guilty pleasure!!

The writers and producers are so out of touch. Many mothers in the US don't get the luxury of choice that Miranda and her boss have.
Sidenote, I can't believe how I used to think SATC was such a pro-motherhood show. I loved that Miranda chose to be a mom ("Is this my baby?"). But nearly every mother on the show is portrayed as miserable (Lisa), stifled (Miranda) or walked over (Charlotte).

I found the scene with Anthony and the Italian poet (with the enormous iambic pentameter) really jarring. This show has always been about women and sex, even if it was created by camp gay men, so it was like breaking the fourth wall to show gay men discussing top and bottom business. I did get a giggle because I suddenly copped what Cole Porter was actually singing about - "you're the top, you're the Colosseum..."

I liked the scene between Anthony and the Italian poet. Discussing sex positions. I’m amazing that Anthony got to his age and never tried being a bottom. Fascinating stuff to me who doesn’t have much knowledge about gay sex 🫶🏼

Carrie staying at Che’s comedy concert was yet another example in the enormous list of times she’s been a terrible friend, but what I fully cannot work out is what redeeming quality Che has a friend that would see Carrie keep her in her life at all? Met through work, dated her best friend, that ended, and then… what? What the duck is Che bringing to Carrie’s life? What possible reason would they have to maintain a friendship even without Che having been a bleep to Miranda?

I dont like Anthony at all. I'd like to see him having a conversation without the one liners and just conversing normally. The snipped tones etc gets on my nerves. I find him really nauseating.
Charlotte and Harry are my favourites, they've lost their way given most of them now is pandering to their kids.
Che I could take or leave, miranda has turned into a wet rag. Where is proper feisty miranda? Why is she such a dick now?
I like selma and I'd like to see her develop more of a character in the show. She slots nicely in with the other three.
Lisa and her husband bore me. Why are they given so much screen time?
Aiden needs to stick to Virginia. I cant really see him happy with Carrie.
Bring bitsy in a few more times and let's her her child.

I loved the movies and can't see why this series is so awful.

I've just finished Painkiller and I had no idea Broderick had the range to pull off playing such a detached manchild psychopath!
OT, but I thought he was a bit cartoonish in that, to be honest. Have you seen Dopesick (a miniseries on the same subject)? IMO, Michael Stuhlbarg as Richard Sackler was much more nuanced and the quality was better overall. Michael Keaton was great as well.

Unpopular opinion…Carrie was right with Miranda, it’s not high school, put on your big girl panties and deal with it 😅
Interesting that she’s not like that with Aidan about his 'not setting a foot into her old apartment' thing - never once tells him to just man up and deal with it.

Dopesick is by far the better programme. But great to see the story being told, the more attention it gets the better, as long as that turns into concrete help for those hurt by it.

Just watching old SATC. I’m on season 2 ep 1 where it’s Carrie birthday and they are in the Moroccan restaurant. Miranda is discussing her recent dirty talk and Stanford says “I personally don’t like anything in my ass”
So Stanford nor Anthony enjoyed it? The writers need to remember the old episodes when writing new ones!!

I wonder how long she'll be in it, I will laugh if it is just a quick 1 minute phone call 🤣

You just know this will be us next week

I'm finally watching the new episode, Che criticising the old man for notnusing they them pronouns is so entitled, it is hard for me to remember to use them on hear and I'm much younger. He's clearly not doing it maliciously, it would be thr same if someone changed their name and people had trouble remembering the new one after years

I genuinely think Sam will just have one line 😂
"No I won't come to your crappy dinner party. And you don't love aiden stop kidding yourself "

That crying scene was dven worse than I had imagined. Why is nothing made of the fact he was drink driving?! He could have killed himself or someone else. More than anything in that situation I think I'd be angry with my child

Same!
My bet is it’s no longer than 20 seconds…..
Carrie picks up and answers and then it's just "sorry wrong number" and Sam hangs up 🤣
