I'm just rewatching and started season 3 yesterday. You are absolutely right, Miranda has always been a bit of a bleep to Steve. It comes across as though she's his world but Steve is a make do for her.

I've really gone off her

And as for episode 9, I really want one of those body gyms advertised before!!!
Oh my god, I literally just called husband out of his study to show him the body gym! We need one, if only just to stow away under the sofa!

Isn't she meant to be like 15? Was it really meant to be her first period?!

Surely Rock starting their periods would be a more woke storyline, addressing how periods can be hard for non binary/trans teens.
It wasn’t her first period, just her first time using a tampon

It's official. Miranda aka Nixon is responsible for the tragedy that is 'And Just Like That.' duck, this moron is oblivious to the hate and nonsense surrounding the show.

She’s just wrong. There was never anything to fix. It was a great show that reflected a certain time, lifestyle, attitude and group of women, and brought great happiness to many. I’ve even - gasp! - come across POC who adored the show and apparently managed to make the human connection between their own experiences and that of the SATC characters despite a difference in skin colour.

If the demographic is changing, which I assume it is (by which I mean more and more POC are making it into that rarified, very successful, highly affluent world which these women inhabit) AJLT could have reflected that quite naturally, without making a big song and dance about it. But by turning it into a political crusade they’ve fucked it up. The motivation was wrong. Lesson in there for everyone about the dangers of going in on this stuff heavy-handed. It doesn’t work, and people don’t like it.

The writers sure aren‘t doing Miranda any favours are they? She’s acting like a love struck teenager. Imagine rocking up to court and realising she’s your lawyer? All they‘ve succeeded in doing is making us sympathise with Steve. Team Steve all the way
I don’t even think she practiced law anymore! That’s just not cool enough for Miranda! Miranda is gonna steves bar in the divorce turn it into a lesbian restaurant with non binary staff and call it “Che’s Magical Finger Food” and you can smoke weed and get finger blasted in the kitchen to feel alive

So Charlotte bleeds through her white overalls. No one saw that coming

To sum up, in this series alone, we've had:
Charlotte's breakthrough bleeding
Carrie wetting herself
Vomiting on the street
SATC movie: Charlotte pooping herself

This is beyond the realm of slapstick, it's just using bodily functions as humiliation. Is no one in the writers room thinking, "👀 maybe we should veto this," it just feels weird.

Agree, its just so forced and they are trying to hard to apologise for something that was of it’s time.

there were plenty of shows that was POC centric and no one said anything about it.

for example girlfriends- same kind of show, centred around black women and hardly had ang white people appear on there and it was done well, it just reflected things as they were in the late 90’s and early 00’s.

Girlfriends is definitely worth checking out for anyone who hasn’t seen it, kind of SATC vibes.

Steve was great in this episode, although he has my heart broken for him. 💔

But I thought this guy was the real star of this episode!

That is my exact expression everytime Che Diaz is on screen.

And the state of Miranda showing up with cookies, does nobody remember how Miranda reacted to Robert bringing her an "I love you" cookie in the original series, the snark and disgust she had for it. Hopefully they are foreshadowing Che feeling the same way and dropping Miranda from a nonbinary height. My heart is still breaking for Steve and how he believes in his marriage (to a woman who always thought she was too good for him and only ever wanted him when he was happy with someone else)

Lily is like 15-16, it really is quite evident this show is written by men. Cause very few 15-16 year old western girls would need help with a tampon, it’s straight forward and they have probably spoken about it with their mates.
Or looked it up on the worldwide interwebs?

The show does indeed appear to have been written by 60 year old men, but the (dreadful, smug) Writers Room podcast featured several 40-something women. How is it possible that they came up with this tampon storyline? The mind boggles at the kind of conversations that led to this script.
