Emily in Paris isn’t great but see that for how diversity is done. You have two black characters, an Asian character and two older characters all in leading roles, but with their own personalities and experiences relating to their race without mentioning their race :)

Emily in Paris also has Patricia Field's great costume design and direction skills. She was also behind SATC's greatest hits. The fashion on AJLT has been trash and even Patricia knows about it and hates it.

Also from memory there was no PR campaign about how diverse the show is. They just get on with it. If you make PR spin on diversity it immediately comes off as disingenuous. And you're right, I never once thought about diversity watching it, I just liked the characters and actors, it feels authentic (crazy as the show is).

Oh dear Lord!!
So far, this episode seems to be cantered around Charlotte teaching Lily to use a tampon. Highlights including Charlotte posing with one leg up on the toilet and offering to show Lily her vag, before loosing her patience and yelling “Just shove it up there!”[/ SPOILER]

Literally the main plot line in this episode 🤣

I wondered if I’d missed an episode because I was expecting something about Cleveland, but the first shot was all three of them in the diner. I hate Miranda so much, I’m starting to warm to Che. Wtf was all that about tampons? Steve needs to go out and shag someone, she’s not worth it Shteve. Get out and get back to bizznesh. All the new side characters can duck off except Seema. She can stay. However she’s no substitute for Sam. Anthony needs to be in every scene

This spoiler title summarises how I feel

And THAT’s why this thread is so much more enjoyable than the show.

Is this meant to be comedy, do you think?

Im rewatching SATC atm and all the characters are assholes except Samantha, she was just not politically correct. But Samantha never judged the others, was sympathetic to problems they put themselves in and they were often quite rude and judgemental of her.
Part of the issue with this new series there is't Sam acting as a buffer to their tit personalities.

Miranda always treated Steve like tit even when she loved him. She was nicest to him when he was with someone else.

I had it set up to record this morning, but my partner switched the tv off at the mains (dam him!) so it didn’t record. It looks like I can’t watch it as I missed the window even though I have the channel 😭😭😭. Is there any other way or do I have to wait until tonight??

He should have stayed with Debbie and Miranda with Robert. Miranda always wants the thing she can’t have.
