Ok, I know you’ve all been waiting so here’s my controversial statement
[ahem]
I think Carrie’s new love interest will be the key to whether there’s another series or not.
hear me out…
he seems like a cool guy, they could have “a thing” then Aidan turns up, throws a spanner in the works and they could spin it across 8-12 episodes.
especially if Aidan turned up on the arm of Seema for instance
They need more Anthony
and the writers and directors including Cynthia Nixon herself need to sort Miranda the duck out.
have Miranda and Steve split - amicably - because she’s gay (not bi, not queer, gay) ergo giving no future to their marriage but allowing it to have a “soft landing”. She then goes on a journey of discovery… and maybe gets a bit of her old life back by going into Family Law, say?
Che will be her agent of change instead of chief finger-bang administrator. And will have a more developed and rounded character in S2.
Seema & Anthony can fill the void of Samantha - I don’t think it’s a given that if this were to get a second season Kim Cattrall would need to come back
we need more “Carrie is set X assignment by her publisher” and we need less podcast and she’s back on the New York writing scene - maybe for their equivalent of You Magazine or something.
The airtime vacated by getting shot of the University lecturer and her boring IVF storyline will make space for more Charlotte, Harry, LTW and what the writers seem to be inferring is her “too good to be true” marriage, plus Miranda’s journey of discovery and divorce.
finally, the writers need to remember that SJP/Carrie is the main focus of the series and write about HER more and her life post-Big… but conveniently hardly mentioning him, considering the tit that’s flying about atm.
last two tips:
1. Lose the crappy CGI, I found that more offensive in Ep7 than the vomit
2. Please get the Carrie narration back

I didn’t find that much vomit to be necessary, I found it incredibly boring and I would’ve liked to see more of how the date went. I cringed so bad at the auction too
