I’d love to know why we’ve gotten 2 random scenes of old Carrie (with her old style and hair down) for it to just go back to the rest of the programming. I know Bigs scenes were cut but do you think we were supposed to have more scenes that would have reflected how Carrie used to be?

Where is the time scale too - the book took Carrie 12 months to write, but Miranda was waiting on a text from Che for 3 months after messaging her in the week before's episode whilst folding clothes, but Carries date and Miranda bumping into Che all happened at the same charity event - none of it make sense unless it's morphed into Quantum Leap and they can time travel too. If they can, maybe Charlotte will remember to cancel her appointment at the filler clinic like she did with Harry's prostrate one.

I thought Carrie at her laptop was supposed to span a year too but the 3 month “you never wrote me” with Che confused me.
Poor writing.

If they wanted to show the passage of time accurately then they should have done something like showing the turning pages of a calendar or quick shots of Halloween/thanksgiving/Christmas/New Years Eve/valentines day etc to show the months passing.

Exactly, as other people have said they are really not making the most of being in ny at all, why not show Central Park in Austin, Xmas lights etc etc
 
Why do they insist on pulling Carrie’s hair back so tightly in an old lady bun or have I just answered my own question? It’s not a flattering look at all for SJP.

Probably because that would in some bizarre way celebrate white heterosexual cis privilege. And also disrupt the atmosphere of loss, ageing, gloom and humiliation that the writers have so carefully constructed.

Croydon facelift? :p But yes, she looks a decade younger when her hair is down and naturally loose/curly (although not the weird fake curls they keep doing where they straighten her hair and then add waves, which is so stupid since SJP's natural curls are perfect).
