There are so many storylines and little touches they could have done. Like Magda. Obviously she's most prob passed away but a nice photo in the Brady house.

Sorry I'm rewatching the whole original series and am to season 5.
The actress who played Magda passed away a few years ago. But yes, there’s no reference to the history of the characters. Nothing that’s connecting them back to who we knew them as.

Just found this thread, hilarious!

I agree it’s a car crash but one I’m (kinda) happy to watch.

I think the angle they have taken isn’t actually anything to do with SATC, it’s just a vehicle for all the ‘hot’ topics of the day. It’s the woker than woke educating the masses on what’s meant to be totally acceptable now.

The political points they try to make (queer theory) -

Miranda using the gents (covers the trans using toilet debate ✔)

Charlotte’s daughter liking skateboarding means she’s not a girl and they’ve just gone along with it? (immediately affirm your kid when they say they’re trans ✔)

The unfunny stand up from Che yelling ‘hey you can change anything about yourself, change your gender! Never mind working on accepting yourself, just CHANGE yourself (just an ad from American surgeons looking for more trans patients ✔)

The belittling of Steve and the disrespectful Brady and Miranda’s absolute lack of guilt or conscience about it is because (as pointed out here), straight white guys don’t matter (queer trumps all ✔)

I could go on. You get my point. Carrie is like a supporting character now to Miranda.

I like Seema and Anthony, hope we see more of them.

I LOVED Miranda and Steve - I cried like a baby in the laundry room reunion, I applauded Steve as he took none of her tit 'that was a crappy thing you did' and loved how openly he loved her. Steve wouldn't put up with this tit and she has too many standard to treat him like tit.

I don't want Cynthia-Nixon-lite. I want

'what magazine, convenient theories for you monthly?'
'oh look tit soup'
'It feels good to be sarcastic on my honeymoon'
'I pulled my own finger' ...

Miranda.
'
I didn't invest my 20s and 30s for THIS tit!! (did laugh at the vomiting though- some light relief)

Still love Harry, at least Charlotte is staying similar to her character... Che can duck off!

(I may be overinvested in this show!) 😂

I agree Steve would never have stood for Mirandas tit before, but they have totally ruined the characters! And the sex between them was always supposed to be so hot, so just seems like they are completely re writing the characters! I'm sure if they tried they could get it back now Brady is all grown up and they have more time on their hands. I dunno the whole Miranda/ che thing is annoying me.
Also just to add I always loved the episode where Miranda tells Steve she's calling the baby Brady and he gets all emotional! One of my fave parts with Steve and Miranda.
The whole baby storyline was cute....his one ball managed to get me pregnant!
But still makes me laugh his name would be Brady Brady.
God I miss the good old days!

I agree and I feel the same about Miranda’s professor. We’ve already been through the baby thing with Charlotte. I’m not sure why we’re supposed to care about this with this particular character. We don’t know enough about her and I’m not invested in her at all.
Same with Charlotte's daughter, we don't know the character to care what she identifies as, the only new character I like is the realtor, plus I'm pleased Anthony is getting more screen time, I always loved his cutting wit. He and Samantha would of made great best friends.

This is so bad. Sooo bad. That episode was... Nothing?

Miranda. Where to begin. Who even is she?. I see her drinking that was shown to be such a problem has suddenly disappeared.

Has everyone just stopped having morals now? Cheating is ok?. She's had 3 months of lying to Steve and has now had sex with Che??. Even Charlotte... She made such a big deal of Carrie cheating on Aidan.

Are they trying to show Steve suffering the way his mum did?

Carries date.. that's it? The vomiting was so unnecessary. So was watching Che and miranda. Miranda like a pining teenager infatuated with a sleazeball. Miranda would never find that attractive.

The whole tennis scene...what was the point?. What about Harry's bowels!. I was cringing the while time eye of the tiger was playing...

It feels like there's a bunch of 20 year olds filming this thinking this is what "old" people are like.

I was expressionless watching that. Other then having to fast forward the Steve and Miranda finger bang attempt and Che... Anthony is the only one who made me express any kind of reaction. He is the an episode stealer.

It's 10 episodes... Why are we easting time on side character storylines? Were not invested!

I was such a fan it actually sad that this is how it's gone. I'm greatful friends never came back now 🤣

Yes, I find it a bit weird that Magda hasn’t been mentioned (unless they have and I haven’t noticed?)
No mention of Steve's mom either, I'd rather have endings to characters we knew than problems of people we have no knowledge of shoved down our throat. Explain that to us please rather than show Charlotte playing tennis with two pensioners for 5 minutes.

The vomit scene needed a bloody pre warning 🤣
What was that, it didn't make sense, was it because they cut out scenes mentioning Big?

Anyone else find this scene so utterly bizarre?
Initially I thought things were going dark, witnessing Lisa Todd Wexley losing it onstage. Early onset dementia or something more fitting of a serious drama. Repeatedly forgetting to hold the microphone to her lips as the audience sensed something was amiss.

The whole Charlotte and Harry storyline this episode was just incoherent. But at least they're still the couple we'd recognise from the original series. I can't get over what AJLT has done to Steve!
They can't get around Big being a a character so I'm not sure why they're removing all mention of him. The actor not the character is the one who has done wrong and the actor is no longer on the show.
Strange scenes for Carrie this episode but the teacher seems cute enough.

Agree, I was thinking surely no one could be that dense to keep forgetting to speak into the mic THAT many times, it went on way too long

Or is it trying to shoehorn how tech-phobic you get when you reach pensioner age your 50s?
