Quite liked episode 6 - also Charlotte's face has calmed down.
Agree about the Brady thing though - at best a totally wrong-footed attempt to capture the original spirit of SaTC humour, but it was just *wrong*, I had to look away until the scene had finished
Maybe I’m overthinking but one thing really pissed me off about ep 6…when Carrie moved into that new apartment and there was that beeping sound and she made ZERO effort to find out what it was! No opening of the cupboards, oven etc, just tried to call maintenance!! It just came across as so childish, she’s a 50 year old woman but she’s so immature! Just really rubbed me up the wrong way 😅

Oh and I just realised that was a trailer, not a still. Looks awful. AWFUL.

'Miranda' - waaah, I used to be a smart sassy lawyer, but now I'm sad cos you never wrote me back
Charlotte - some feminist bollocks over tennis probably
Carrie - continues to look as humourless as possible and please witch for the love of god STOP SCRAPING YOUR HAIR BACK YOU LOOK 112
Che - get in the bin

Ah, but 50 is the new 90 remember, would you expect your 90 year old great Grandmother to sort out her own beeping?

Maybe Charlotte had a sexy dream about Che the same way I once had a sexy dream about Paul McCartney. Yuck, I cringed inside out and still can’t watch the ropey old fucker to this day.

Was he singing "Love me do"?

Although maybe the dream was about your erotic attraction to Jessica Fletcher in Murder, She wrote!

I have the same sort of confusion about the decision to put Miranda in a rather ageing (in my opinion) grey bob wig, when Cynthia Nixon appeared recently on a chat show with a very cute red pixie cut which looked delightful and very flattering - and very youthful. I realise of course that actors don’t have to look like the characters they’re playing, but given that they’re the same age (and the real life character of Cynthia seems to have entirely taken over the body of Miranda) I do wonder what was behind this choice - and if it was the same sort of thinking that decided it would be a good idea to give Carrie a hip replacement.

I'd rather have Miranda's big character arc being the decision to sack off the grey and embrace the red again than this Che shite.

Can I nominate ‘Some feminist bollocks over tennis probably’ for the next thread title?

S3 and S4 were the best.

One of my favourite episodes is when they go to Staten Island for the firefighters calendar thing (where Carrie meets the politician) and Charlotte gets drunk on Staten Island Iced Teas and dances to ‘Doctor’s Orders’. 😂

Then on the ferry, shouts ‘I’m getting married this yearrrrr’ - and it’s not long after she gets knocked down by Trey’s (a doctor) taxi.

Samantha was always classy about sisterhood stuff - from telling men on nights out with the girls that it was ‘just us girls tonight’, to not judging Carrie at all about her Big affair (‘Not my style’ - *wink*), to making sure the nun also got an appointment to the breast cancer doctor.
Yeah i think Samantha is actually a more sympathetic character than Carrie who i used to love but now i see her character as quite shallow and self obsessed. Really miss Samantha's character on the show. I am enjoying it though but not as much as before. Bring back Samantha!

Samantha clearly came from a tough background, had worked her arse off to be successful and relished her independence. As a character, she was well aware of her own flaws. Anthony is the only character worth watching now.

Ironically it took samantha's absence for me to realise she was the best character by a mile.
She never judged, she was always herself and refused to change for anyone, she took no tit either herself or on behalf of her friends, she made things happen if anyone needed help. She refused to let Smith spend any more years with her when she realised she wanted to be alone. ,

I was really annoyed when they cut Mr big out of the first episode. I was fuming. I had always loved Mr Big. I didnt even watch the second episode because i was so pissed off. The i heard about the allegations and somehow it made it ok for him not to be in the show. I do believe innocent until proven guilty but yes i feel better now that his character is not in it.

Carrie was always shouting at Samantha to get out of the bath as well 😂 She made her go on that train journey with her for a booty call book tour to go and see Big, and then chucks her out of her bubble bath when he unexpectedly turns up to the hotel.

She made Miranda go to the church with her to spy on Big and his mum, to the restaurant with her and Aiden and Steve, even though Miranda clearly didn’t want to go on a faux platonic date, and both times told her to sling her hook as soon as she felt ok in the situation.

I’m sure Carrie had some redeeming qualities 😂 SJP played her well and made her v watchable (and still plays her well, I think.)

I’m up to Season 4 and I love all of them, and the dynamics between them. Miranda is hilarious and down to earth. Charlotte was so pretty and I loved her facial expressions, it’s so sad she’s had bad ‘work’ done. And Samantha is great, such a good friend. When Carrie tells her about the affair with Big, she’s so non-judgemental. I would love a friend like Sam! I really like Carrie as well.
