I think Charlotte was the one most at ease with who she is, she was always clear she wanted to be married with children. That's the life she now has and seems grateful to be where she is in life.

She and Samantha, although polar opposites in many ways, were always the most supportive friends. Charlotte was there supporting Miranda when she thought she was getting a termination, even though Charlotte had struggled to be pregnant she still supported Miranda. When she found out Carrie was cheating on Aidan just before her own wedding, even though shocked still stood by her friend. When her marriage ended and she was in an uncertain period of her life, feeling she had no purpose and volunteering because she couldn't find paid gallery work she gave Carrie the deposit for her apartment. Carrie traveling across the city to shout at me to give her fifty grand would have gotten the business end of my boot not a cheque, especially not when she had a wardrobe containing forty grands worth of high heels.

There has always been a slightly sneering tone in the show towards Charlotte and Samantha, one "oversexed" and judged for it, the other "just" a wife and mother judged prim and undersexed/frigid uptight sexually. Those two women are the more interesting for me, neither one is apologetic about who they are. Miranda has the world's biggest chip on her shoulder and miserable even when she has exactly what she wants, Carrie is vain and selfish and I would say married Big for status.

This whole comment is just 💯! It’s why “Frenemies” is one of my favourite episodes, (the one with "And you can forget Samba!” and Claire Anne). Sam and Charlotte finally clash over their differences but by the end they realise they still respect and love each other. Which sounds so cheesy written down, but it was such a fab way of contrasting two brilliant characters.

S3 and S4 were the best.

One of my favourite episodes is when they go to Staten Island for the firefighters calendar thing (where Carrie meets the politician) and Charlotte gets drunk on Staten Island Iced Teas and dances to ‘Doctor’s Orders’. 😂

Then on the ferry, shouts ‘I’m getting married this yearrrrr’ - and it’s not long after she gets knocked down by Trey’s (a doctor) taxi.

Samantha was always classy about sisterhood stuff - from telling men on nights out with the girls that it was ‘just us girls tonight’, to not judging Carrie at all about her Big affair (‘Not my style’ - *wink*), to making sure the nun also got an appointment to the breast cancer doctor.

If I was Harry I wouldn’t want to live in her ex marital home tbh, i always found it strange and I presume he would have had a nice apartment too
Yeah but an apartment on the upper east side or upper west side is like the pinnacle isn't it? That where everybody wants to live but only few can afford it 🤷🏼‍♀️ I always thought Charlotte was the snobbiest so I think it fits in well with her character, in my head anyway 😂

Ah see i just think its normal that Harry's moved in there
But then again my partner has moved into my ex marital home, because well, he was only renting and was i hell going through the difficulties of selling 😂😂

I'm going to watch Satc again at some point. I never watched it when it came out (too young) but I binged it a few years ago and didn't really pay too much attention. I liked it but it was more of a 'watch in the background' type thing so I kinda missed a few things. (For example was Anthony originally Charlotte's mate and what's the history between him and Stanford?) But for some reason I'm so invested in AJLT mainly because it's like watching a car crash...multiple times!!!

Mine too. Such great acting.

Anthony was originally Charlotte’s stylist who she hired to help her find her wedding dress when she married Trey. They became friends after that. Stanford was Carrie’s friend who was already a long standing character in the show. Anthony & Stanford always had a comedic dislike for one another and Stanford was always trying to prove that he was “the better gay” than Anthony (being in relationships with hot guys) - Charlotte did try to set them up on a date at one point but Anthony rejected the entire idea because Stanford didn’t fit the typical physical ideal of guys that Anthony was usually attracted to.

then we find out in the movies that they eventually got married!!!!!

My husband is going skiing week after next so I have the remote to myself for a whole week. I’m going to rewatch the all the SATC episodes with zero whinging in the background 👏🏻 Charlotte was never my fave back in the day but now I’m older and wiser she just might be.

There was also an article reviewing AJLK which started with, "My therapist said Che Diaz cannot hurt me."

I can’t believe Miranda has gone from my favourite to the least favourite, and that’s including the crappy support roles, (not che.. she is the worst character to have ever appeared on this whole show)
The worst and least believable. It has really made me lose respect for Cynthia as an actress as she clearly thinks the part is well written and great. Is she that clueless?
