I feel as though the characters have stayed in 2004 and the times have changed.

Like Miranda with her books, like she’s a smart lady, surely she’d have some kind of electronic device?! And the saying the wrong things made me cringe so bad.
Carrie with the podcasts, she looked alien to it all.
I was disappointed but I’ll continue to watch, but I’d rather see the Samantha in London special 💁🏻‍♀️
I don't think they have stayed in 2004 at all, I am younger than Miranda and still read books not a kindle :ROFLMAO: and she has actually regressed if antyhing. If anything I was surpised Carrie was on a podcast as she didn;t even have a mobile for a lot of the series, I would have assumed she would have had a blog (which are pretty out dated now) and some how trying to keep it going while everyone else had moved on to podcasts

Wow. I'm glad they have publicly acknowledged the allegations. It's a very sombre statement.
I wonder what would happened if he hadn't been killed off?

To be honest I think their statement raises more questions.

No suggestion of them not seeing any example of predatory behaviour personally while still supporting the women coming forward and hoping due process and justice prevails. So did they know all along what he was like and kept quiet? If so they hold part of the blame. Or they've turned on their supposed friend very quickly. Sounds like yet another Hollywood cover up for many years.

Or is this part of the reason he was killed off

I don’t think they could put that detail in a public statement?

They could have made a comment about due process and justice etc if there was any question over guilt. It wouldn't specify who the justice was for but would keep it a bit more neutral while also saying they support women's right to come forward They've basically said he is guilty and shown no support for their 'friend'

I'm smart and tech savvy but absolutely nothing beats a proper book. It's not the same, reading off an electrical device. I'm currently studying at the moment and prefer the physical book rather than the electronic version.

I think it's a bit unfair to assume books should be redundant!

Miranda was always tech savvy and up to date with technology though so this made no sense 😂 She never would’ve become someone behind with the times
Its not behind the times to use a physical book though?! 😳

Yeah I recently went back to Uni and like Miranda I used proper books, I really struggle studying and researching from ebooks. Plus there is enough screen work writing on computer, never mind doing all the research too It was great as most books I needed were always in stock as younger students used online. Not sure I could have done it just online only.

You know when things couldn’t actually get any worse, awful reboot, awful publicity, really started at rock bottom so the only positive is it can’t get any worse…

and then you realise rock bottom is actually a tiny little sheltered cliff jutting out of a far, far bigger cliff….

and there’s still a long bleeping way down 😕
Same 😂 god this is tragic. It’s like it’s cursed in plot and real life.
Probably the only entertaining thing about it right now in fairness.

For me Miranda’s drink problem doesn’t make sense! I’ve just re watched the episode with Brady’s christening (but disturbing when I’ve just witnessed a Brady sex scene on &JLT!) and Miranda is pretty judgy of Steve’s mum who attends the church after a few drinks and acts generally embarrassing drunk. Old Miranda wouldn’t have a drink problem, if they needed to give her a flaw why not pick something else?! They did make out she had some weight issues in the series, could they have revisited that now she’s older, or just- you know- ANYTHING believable for her character?
I’m sorry but this isn’t really how addiction works at all. I’ve actually seen a couple of people start drinking too much/leaning on alcohol as they get older, it’s really sad but surprisingly common, and not at all unbelievable.
I don’t think you can rule out someone developing an alcohol dependency later in life because 15 years ago she side eyed her mother-in-law for being pissed at her grandsons christening.

I wasn’t assuming books should be redundant, I love a good book to read- however when I was studying 10 years ago I preferred an electronic device- we are all different in how we learn.

My comment was based around the show and how it just seems the characters have been left in 2004 when times have moved on around them. That’s my opinion and don’t feel I’m unfair to say. I’m new here & thought it was a place to voice opinions without the pitch forks

I’m surprised they’ve rolled over on Chris noth so quickly. There is no police investigation so would have been better to stay neutral. Maybe shows how much sjp is willing to save her own skin over her friend
I believe what KC said about SJP being obsessed with her 'nice girl' image. She'll throw anyone under a bus to protect that (although I actually do think Chris Noth is a POS because the women's accounts of what happened with him are pretty much identical).

Or you know, she/they believe the women?
If they believed the women so quickly over their friend of many years why did sjp allow him to be part of the show. She’s executive producer and had she known He was this type of man could have cut him before the remake. Situation opens up a lot of conversation about consent I think

so yes I stand by by comment. If the allegations are true they are part of the problem
