Maybe, but if they were shocked why didn't they say that. Their statement really feels like they already knew. It's like Oprah and meryl over the Harvey scandal.

Women and men should be held to account if they have turned a blind eye and enabled abusive behaviour. And I think this is very common in the celebrity world as its all so fake and self serving.

I personally wouldn't be surprised if he is guilty, but neither do I agree with trial by social media.
 
Maybe they knew maybe they didn't. Until the story broke I'd never heard anything about him being a sleaze, in fact my first reaction wasn't believing the woman, to my shame I dismissed the headlines. It was only when I read the accounts that I thought tit this is looking likely. This type of predator is charm personified until they're anything but and they have their victim in a corner.
 
They really can’t win here, can they? I agree with the person who said that it’s unlikely that Noth showed that side of himself to SJP and the others. It really is possible they knew nothing about it and unless something comes out that they’ve been covering for him, I think we should take it at face value. As Mavis has just said, I’d never heard of any rumours about him, and I’m an avid follower of the gossip sites.

Chris Noth’s actions are down to him and him alone and we shouldn’t be blaming any of the women involved at the moment.
 
I did wonder if they would speak out. I don't know on one hand I can totally see how this could have happened to these women, the only tiny thing throwing me off is if you even thought there was a rumour (as far back as law & order) why would you include him not only in 2 films but a reboot? Is this how Hollywood works?
I wonder if he ever crossed the line with "Carrie" during filming as in I was only acting.
 
I am surprised they have said something publicly regarding it. I am not sure if it is different in America in terms of what you can say legally before someone has been convicted. Most statements/announcements in the UK mainly don’t say anything for legal reasons go down the same generic co-operate and await outcome of the trial

She knew that Roman Polanski drugged and sodomised a 13 year old, and happily went on to star in one of his films.
So unless she’s had a huge moral shift in being absolutely fine working with predators, I sincerely doubt it.

I like to pretend this too 🤣 the rest is all just too terrible to ponder on. I managed 10 minutes of the first episode of AJLT and switched off. They seemed like caricatures of themselves, and as much as we all age I’m not sure I want them too, I want them to live in their bubble of 30’s skipping about NYC. Its as off as seeing the early years of The Golden Girls 😝.

He was vocal about the fallout between SJP and Cattrall, said SJP was wonderful iirc and implied Kim was out of order. So I doubt KC will have anything positive to say about him. Maybe they had suspicions about him I guess time will tell, right now we just have that statement.

Agree with you.

And plus rapists generally don't wear a sign around their necks advertising their predatory behaviour, they hide in plain sight. It's likely no one knew.

But that's what makes their statement weirder. There is no 'we are shocked', just that they are saddened.

Let's not forget this statement wouldn't have just been done while walking down the street. There would be meetings, referring to different departments and likely legal teams representing the three actresses, pr people production, production studio etc etc. It will be very carefully planned and worded.
