By definition, if you have a binary (male and female), you can also have a concept that’s outside of the binary and not wholly male or female.

It’s not about existing in a mythical space or being an alien entity. It’s about Sam existing as a human and identifying as neither fully male or female. Why does that affect other people so much?
Because there are only two sexes male and female. Sam Smith is male albeit a gender non conforming male. It really doesn't need a special term because people are so unable to see past gender stereotypes

Your question is something I'm yet to find the answer to. I don't spend my days enraged by people identifying as male or female.

Quite honestly, why would the concept bother others? Just let people live their lives.

Well Sam Smith feels like it does need another term. Why does that affect others? Just blend it into your every day and carry on.

There may be two sexes but there are more than two genders… therefore people can identify as any gender they like. It literally doesn’t impact on anyone else’s life.

People can identify themselves as whatever they want, BUT it doesn't stop other people seeing and identifying them from their own perspective. You could call it discrimination or ignorance but it's just human nature. Sam Smith, for instance, can identify as a teapot if he chooses but he just looks bonkers to most people in his outrageous costumes .
They were great in And Just Like That playing ... themselves. It was even better than Geri Hornerwell's portrayal of Phoebe Kittenworth in SATC.

I'm not bothered by people identifying as nonbinary BUT I have noticed an uptick in more rigid adherence to gender roles but couched in progressive language.

Like, if a man or woman doesn't act stereotypically male or female then they now have to be some other thing. It's like the concept of GNC people no longer exists and instead you have to be nonbinary or "queer" (even in you're not).

I've seen a few people being called "eggs" (as in a trans person who hasn't "come out of their shell") online just because they have non typically masculine or feminine hobbies even if they are 100% male or female identifying otherwise.

What happened to no labels?

I can't take her seriously as I associate the Sugden name with Percy and Jack. Theyd be appalled.
I thought it was only me who did this. Every time I read her name I thought she was an actress in Emmerdale even asking hubby (who is a Emmerdale fan) who she was as I was sure the show wouldn't have alllowed their actresses to get their tits out on Only Fans

I never realised quite how cold, fake and “Stepford” Holly seemed until she presented next to Josie. The latter exudes warmth and is natural. Even Alison Hammond is natural compared to the ice queen.
I think I am in the minority by saying I don't like Josie. I prefer Holly ( I now going to run for cover). I went off PS a few years ago due to the Intel on tattle so I hope that will save me a little bit 🤣

I think the fact that Sam Smith is unpopular (on this forum at least) doesn't do them any favours. I wonder if people take the same issue with Bella Ramsey or Janelle Monae or Richard O'Brien or anyone else that isn't male/female.

The state of her. Her comment today really annoyed me. They have been appearing as 'husband and wife' for bloody years. That's obviously what they/she wanted the world to believe. She was quite happy to turn up with an Oscar nominee on her arm and play happy families.

She also claims Chris Rock asked her out and she turned him down.

Can't stand her.
my favorite "fact" she revealed to tmz is that she and Tupac were soulmates.
yup. sure.

Great article, just a shame they seem to have stopped comments on it. Poor Mandy, she was always made out to be a real Lolita. She had no hope with her mother giving Bill her permission for him to sleep with her. We knew at the time it was gross and yet despite daily stories in the papers nothing was done about it

One of my favourite Tattler posts!
its so hard to explain, and make it all make sense now, but at the time-it wasnt bizarre that he was dating her. She was seen as being fortunate and had really "arrived" and living a life a lot of girls would have killed for.
I can see now clearly, how that was a very predatory situation. But they were on tv doing interviews and in the papers all the time. It was no huge deal.
I used to hang out with lots of bands when I was younger and we were 15 when we started doing that. We said we were 18 of course-but nothing untoward ever happened, and I think we were lucky. it could have easily gone the other way.

It's rumoured that Bill Wyman may be involved in a concert that the Stones may be doing in New York later this week. Talk about not reading the room if this is true...

You might find the podcast where JK Rowling was interviewed interesting. It talks about the communities online.
