Another question, I’ve been looking on med express, so I can get a look of how much this will cost me going forwards, I previously ordered via boots online so collected in store. Med express requires a signed for delivery, I am never in for my post, how do people get round this? Does the pen not need refrigeration, I would worry if it was sat in the sorting office as they don’t allow pick up until following day.
Nope not true. I've only used Medexpress and never once signed for it. I've been on it for 5 months. They use Royal Mail. My postman leaves the parcel in my safe place.

sorry TMI!
I’ve been looking into fibre supplements because since I took my first dose of 2.5 on Wednesday, I have only been for a number 2 twice - which is very unusual for me.

the supplement I’m looking at getting is a tablet of 500mg - is this enough?
I’ll also be trying to get as much fibre in as possible through food!

I am so sorry to read about how people's Mums have been.
I blame so many things for this attitude but mainly the media and society. When did we decide as a collective that thin meant respect and love?
I know myself that I have been single a long time and have never dared go on dating sites in case men say a thing about me looking bigger then my pics or being disappointed if we met. Now I am losing weight it actually sounds pathetic .

I have never found the tablets that great. Laxido, lactulose etc aken regularly is usually more effective. If using they only work if also drinking at least 1.5 litres of water also

I used MedExpress this month and my delivery came on Thursday, it was Royal Mail 48hrs, no signature required.

So MedExpress are being a bit funny about price matching. Refusing private pharmacy clinic at the moment: think they spent too much doing double price match! x

500mg of what?

I buy inulin powder from Amazon, which is a slightly sweet tasteless super fine powder, whuch dissolves in hot or cold drinks and yoghurt etc
5g is 10 calories, and 4.5g if fibre.

The recommended intake is 30g a day of mixed sources that most you'd ever want to take is 10g of the inulin (I normally only do 5g). A 1kg bag is £15 so it lasts for months and months.
So much cheaper than the gummies (of which inulin is the main ingredient) and less filler.
I normally have a teaspoon of that daily and a fybogel sachet every other day (or non specific psyllium brand)

Both are fibre but work slightly differentlg
Psyllium husk holds water so can help form the stool and give it bulk (🙁), whereas the inulin doesn't work as a laxitive, but it's prebiotic so feeds the gut bacteria in addition to being a fibre source.

Whatever you chose start with small amounts and work up and drink loads otherwise you'll have wind to equal Storm Darragh

If you like the frogspawn texture chia seeds are also a shout..best soaked so a bit of a work up bit normally effective

I've completed 4 weeks today (2.5mg MJ).

Total loss is 12lb (SW 13st10/ CW 12st12)
I've lost 9cm off my waist.
The best outcome though is my BP - it was 120/85 when I started, it's 100/70 now.

2.5mg is still giving good suppression so I'm doing another 4 weeks - I jabbed everywhere so far apart from my right arm, so that's the spot for today.

Thanks for being so open and supportive - I wouldn't have had the courage to try this if I hadn't found this thread.

I use this company for price match as they seem fairly cheap for higher doses. Its also the reason I've stayed on 12.5 for the last 3 months as you can get better deals on the 12.5 price that you can 15 and then there's nowhere to go at 15mg and I'm just paying out to be at the top dose each month. I never find the suppression much different as I move up the doses, so happy to stick where I am for now.

Your BP was a perfect BP it's actually now a low BP. X

Maybe they have different guidelines where you are in the world, but my diastolic was too high according to NHS, now they consider it perfect.

I was surprised by my 120/85 reading being considered too high, but that's the guidance now.

I am a nurse with the NHS 🤭😂😂

That's an NHS infographic. Come on lads, get your story straight...🤣🤣

This from the NHS main website also backs up the infographic. 85 diastolic is out of normal range, and 100/70 is normal.

What would you say the normal range is? (I'm not being funny, just trying to figure out why the info the NHS publish is different to what an NHS nurse says). x

Since 2017 NHS England have used the NEWS2 system.
120/80 is a perfect BP.
Under 110 would be a low BP
Oddly you have to score over 219 when in hospital for a BP to be considered high , though my Mum was sent in when hers was 189.
Not sure why the guidelines advise against their own system. Yours isn't overly low but your BP was better before. Under 110 you would score a 1 if you were my patient and I would advise you to drink more fluids .

I think her diastolic is tipping her into "high" but it seems odd that the numbers are that close together. I'd say if it was taken again, the diastolic probably would show a different number. Like you say, we don't look at that number for acute concerns.. but long term, you'd still want it a bit lower.

But I'd also be saying to increase fluids with systolic of 100.
