Sarah & Josh (POG family)

I forgot about Emily Hayward - I remember Alisha described their last night together before she was hospitalized and soon passed. I think they went to a movie or out to eat? Anyway, she described it as a fun night out.

Another one I followed was Nalie Agustin. She also had WBR and after that, traveled on a road trip with her two brothers from Montreal to New York to see a Broadway play and to get some specialized (weird) treatment that she hoped would help - reiki or acupunture maybe? I can remember her in some kind of clinic that offered alternative cancer treatment in NYC but it didn't seem too kosher. But she was very giddy and happy, though confined to a wheelchair, during that trip, and she died soon after.

Seriously. Just when people gather to stand behind him and next to him en masse to support Sarah. In the midst of a life or death decision and on the precipice of a determination as to whether or not wbr is going to help her and potentially give her extra precious time here.

This is the moment he thinks it's a good idea to use all these growing numbers of caring people in order to take make some extra money off of them by hawking a new merch line?? :rolleyes:

Why am I not surprised? While I have empathy for his horrific situation I just do not find him genuine whatsoever. He'll have a new wife by Christmas.

A new merch line? Sarah’s been given a month (1?week in) and Josh is thinking of merch?

It's a post Josh made under their Community Tab link on their channel from a few hours ago with a link to a brand new merchandise line. For some reason, they thought it was the ideal time for it so soon after going through the last few harrowing days. :rolleyes:

I am so pleased to see Sarah so articulate and able to express herself. I too appreciate the lengths staff went to in order to treat her on a holiday.

@Saydee or anyone: Josh suggested wbr side effects are mild, Is that likely not the case in the next few days? Her seeming improvements thus far: likely steroid related? She appeared to have much more difficulty before, even when not havìng a seizure. Could she be giddy/giggling from the steroids?

Yes, radiation builds and will build each day. High dose steroids act very quickly to control inflammation and knock it back, especially IV steroids. The difficulty and reality of the situation tend to slowly creep back when patients start tapering off steroids.
 
The Pog Family have had merchandise for ages as a gaming channel. Sarah has said be kind and make good choices for a while, but it’s only now that the channel seems to be getting bigger due to her cancer story that they have thought to introduce this merchandise.

I really didn’t think they would go down that route. I’m really quite disappointed, although I suppose they’re at least donating some of the proceeds to a cancer charity.

Oddly, I do not have a negative response to the new merch because it is merch with Sarahs’s beautiful quote Be Kind and Make Good Choices. Plus they have had merch for awhile and I don’t feel they push it. Followers in their posts have been quoting it in their posts.

Now if Jenny and Kyle come out with merch that says “Drainer” I will not support it

I don’t want to feel this way, however, Josh went to far in having Sarah say so much. I believe he was telling her what to say as well. A simple hello was all we needed to get some comfort. Sarah is gravely gravely ill I don’t want to see her propped up for purposes of a video. I am creeped out. I am a loyal follower and I can’t watch anymore after this video,

Completely agree with you on her mental status. She is playing a part her family needs her to play. I feel sorry that she can not just be present in her moments without pressure to "perform." So complex these issues are. She is most definitely NOT back to "baseline," and is very fragile right now, and the way the filming is portrayed, it makes the family seem like they "just don't get it." I think that after decades in mental health and counseling and nursing, I underestimate the affect that experience has on ability to see nuance to assess for subtle changes. Perhaps I am expecting too much from people whose life's work has not been in these fields. All in all, I think that the inevitable is going to catch them by surprise and be more traumatic because of their coping techniques during this time period. Idk, what do I know. It is easy to make observations from the outside looking in. I have compassion for them, tremendously, and it angers me that our medical system is so disjointed, rather than holistic. Again, a nurse advocator / navigator that had been with them for the last 7 years could have done so much to help them.

Please don't judge, just thoughts.

Someone needs to write up an analysis of a T-Shirt with "Drainer" on it. I.Just.Can't.With.That.
 
I remember being euphoric when I was first put on high dose steroids when I had immense pain with total colitis. The relief was short lived as I quickly developed side effects to the steroids ( including excruciating pain in one of my eyes) and inability sleeping, mood swings etc. I went from dexamethasone to prednisone though so maybe different s/e.

Hmm.. I actually thought their last video was pretty upbeat and positive. (I assume we are talking about the same video and not the previous one where she had the seizure.) Yes, Sarah is gravely ill, but she seemed very together in this video, which was good to see. I didn't get the feeling she was being propped up and that Josh was telling her what to say. To me it seemed she wanted to make the video and let everyone know how she was doing, especially after the events of the previous day being so dire. Just my take.

I really don't feel she is getting pressure to perform, although I personally wasn't comfortable watching the seizure video and ended up stopping it. It's their choice what they share though, and I have to hope Josh is only putting up things Sarah would approve of. I also assume they have previously talked in depth about what they will share during this journey. I guess it's hard to say if making these videos or their coping technique will take a further toll. You mentioned the family doesn't get it. Besides the filming aspect what do you feel the family should be doing differently? You certainly have much more knowledge and understanding than I do of these situations, and as you said, she is is obviously very fragile now. :( I have tremendous compassion for them as well.❤

I don't think she is under pressure either. It's great that she is so lucid, albeit a bit giggly, and there are other people around, not just Josh. I think if any of them thought she was being coerced or pressured, they would stop him doing it. We just see a snapshot, we don't see the hours that people are spending with her, they will know if she is OK with being videoed.
Sarah has alway been open about everything, and kept subs up to date with daily vlogs. Josh is just carrying that on. And we Tattlers are a fickle lot, are we not? Not long ago we were complaining about T keeping everyone in the dark, posting weeks behind-hand, videos of her looking grim, but actually saying nothing of any import from day to day, whilst all along being at home. Now we are getting regular updates as things are happening, short and to the point, and we are still not happy. 🤷🏻‍♀️
